Anyone know anything about these haresrambles? I was thinking about going to one but would like to hear from someone who has been or knows something about them(AMA?, miles of course?,#of bikes?) Thanks

I've never raced there, but some friends have, so this is all from memory: AMA, no; Mileage, <7; #of bikes, ~50

RACED THERE SEVERAL TIMES. VERY NICE FACILITIES, VERY DISORGANIZED. LAST RACE I WENT TO THERE WAS ONLY ABOUT 35 ENTRIES. THE COURSE IS PRETTY TECHNICAL AND ROCKY. LAYOUT IS ABOUT 5 MILES. YOU RACE 6 LAPS OR 1 1/2 HOURS. IT'S FUN IF YOU TAKE SOME BUDDIES AND ALL RIDE THE SAME CLASS. I'M FROM CHATTANOOGA AREA SO IT'S REAL CLOSE. I RIDE MID-SOUTH WINTER SERIES AND THIS RACE IS NOT IN THE SAME LEAGUE AT ALL. HEY, ANYTIME YOU CAN RACE IT'S FUN.

I had a sheet from the harescrambles some where? I got it last year sometime and it had a contact # on it. I will look for it tonight and see if I can find it. If they only had 37 people at a event I would call and make sure they are still run the races. If they had 10 classes with 4 trophy's a class, well you see what I'm saying!

I found their web sight. The only info was last years schedule. I sent an email but rec'd no response. I'd like to go to one just to get in a race. I haven't raced since last summer at mid south summer race. Is it electronic scoring or barrel type scoring? Thanks

Info. below someone gave me about this place when I inquired about 3 weeks ago...I called and the person said they will probably not run during the summer because of low turnout...said they will most likely pick back up in the fall

memphis mc will be having a hs race on 7/28. post back if interested.

Where at lawman?? been to a couple of their races and enjoyed them.
Posted by: ADS---------------------
It will be at Slayden,MS. It is a good wide open track that utilizes a real nice MX track as a spectator section. I hope we get some rain though, dust sucks. Directions can be found at www.memphismotorcycleclub.com.

slayden is just south of the tenn. line. this is private land, & as ads says, it has a regulation mx track on it. i'm the promoter this time, & i have yet to decide how much of the track to use. as ads says, it can get mighty dusty, esp. in july. the rest is a mix of tight woods & pastures. we'll have cold water & towels in case the heat gets to anyone. the races are 2 hours, & scoring is done electronically. a parade lap is not only allowed, it is encouraged, to increase safety & take away the locals' advantage. it is a pretty good series, with some very competitive racing, if i may say so myself. come on down!

When is the date of the race
Posted by: lawman---------------------
7/28. all info is available on the website ads linked for you.
Posted by: ADS---------------------
Lawman, that parade lap may not happen. At the past 2 races the kids have ran at 9:00, followed by the quads at 10:00, and the main event at 12:00. Since you are the promoter, I guess that you would know more than I do. The new schedule does seem to get people home quicker though and since practice was not going to be given at the last race, I left the house later than usual.
let me know what the schedule will be, as if practice will be given, I'll be there early.

hmmmm, andrew, that's news to me, but i've missed all the races but the 1st 1 due to doing other races. i'll find out. racing from noon to 2 pm at the end of july? i guess that will eliminate any worries about frostbite!
