I just found out today that he was also a horn player (my chosen instrument). Does anyone know if he played any of the horn solos on the Tommy album?
I was saddened to hear of his death. His bass riffs are awesome!

Well I guess this puts their tour off for awhile.... me and a friend were hoping to see them in a few weeks..... It just won't be the same

Well Jay, I'm almost feel ashamed to say I was never a real die-hard Who fan. That's not to say I don't recognize the pioneering musical influence they've had over the years. In fact had it not been for Entwistle, the Bass Sound that we all know today would have never existed. He is the one that developed the round wound bass strings that everyone is now using. Before everyone used the flat wound strings and turned to treble off leaving that boomy non-definition bass.
