Hey Guys,
I have a 2002 xr 650 with the "full power"kit (bigger main jet, 175, bigger pilot (68s), larger intake manifold, competition needle in 3rd clip, and genuine Honda exhaust insert. Also, the airbox plugs are removed. The bike has tons of power in any gear. The thing that I noticed with these mods is that the beast is now finicky about starting. I have the official Honda Wrench Report and noticed that the fuel screw setting was never mentioned. Do I go leaner or richer with the fuel screw?. any replies greatly appreciated.

The people I've talked to in the past with XR650R's with the same mods you described usually end up between 1.5 - 2.5 turns out on the fuel screw with the majority of them closer to 1.75 - 2 turns out.

When cold, open the idle speed one full turn, start, then back off idle speed.

Should start great when hot.
