Spare Nuts / Bolts etc

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

It seems I have been fortunate since I've begun racing but I have lost a couple of bolts here and there. I was wondering what hardware type of parts like this people carry with them, example:

Which bolts, clips, pins, safety wire and so on.

That's funny evertime I work on our bikes I find a few extra nuts or bolts to throw in the box as spares

I carry 3 or four of various sizes for holding on plastic, etc. I also carry the little clip that holds the needle into the carb slide, it would be easy to lose. And a little wire too, and zip ties. And spark plugs...

But a few bolts is a good idea.

Hey oldguy, where do you get these spare nuts from?

zip ties & duct tape.

A few of the most common size bolts with nuts and washers to match, duct tape, zip ties and some plumbers putty ( you can get the stuff at the bike shop but it costs 3 times as much) for case holes and normal tools. Almost forgot the wire and extra master and repair link.

Okay...I got what seems to be a pretty good list of things to keep with me and I can see a need for all of it except the duct tape. There seems to be quite a few of you that carry the "rock-n-roll" tape with you but what do you use it for?

Broken plastic, boots, skin and bones ect... you know. :silly:

i carry a variety of nuts and bolts, safety wire, zip ties and duct tape. about once a year, i go to the shop i deal with and fill up a bag of miscellaneous nuts and bolts from the warehouse. the guy that uncrates and puts the new bikes together gives them to me. i haven't bought a bolt in years.

Whats the name of the shop? I'll try to remember not to buy a bike from them if they have spare nuts and bolts

If it can't be fixed with any of the three, it can't be fixed!

Tekbolt.com sells kits with an assortment of the metric bolts, washers, nuts, etc. I bought one and was extremely impressed. Well worth the investment. For around $45, I have a large assortment of bolts. A few trips to the local dealer can approach that cost quickly.
