Hi,
I have a street legal KLX250E. This model is about 26hp, a KLX250R is about 32hp I think. The muffler on my machine is so quit (like a 50cc moped). A guy is now selling a KLX300R stock pipe+muffler, and the muffler is "empty" so to speak for better flow. He says it sounds like his Stroker Stroker SX1, not too bad.
Will the KLX300R pipe make any performance differerence? And will a KLX300R system fit my -94 KLX250? Should I keep my KLX250 pipe or should I change to the KLX300R pipe also? I think a Stroker, FMF pipe is a bit expensive, so Im thinking of this option.
Regards,

I don't know if they will match up physically, but even if they do you may have jetting problems. I personally would try to buy an aftermarket pipe, just so my time jetting would net less headaches. Good Luck!

The KLX250 and KLX300 use the same head pipe. Without going to an oversize headpipe you will not get much performance inprovement. The biggest difference on a KLX300Rmuffler is that you can remove the baffle. The least expensive modification with the best results is to get an aftermarket headpipe and use it with a KLX300 muffler with the baffle removed, I have owned 3 KLX300's and that is what I did.

Thanks for your input. What after-market head pipes do you recommend? What manufactures are there out there?
Seems like a reasonable idea to change head pipe and get the KLX300R muffler, and take the baffler away...

I used a Stroker headpipe. FMF and White Bros also have headers.
