Another good tip that I recieved from Ty Davis was to reroute the crank case breather hose.
Stock routing causes the bike to seap oil out and I have seen dirt get all the way to the top of the breather. An easy fix is to remove the seat and tank and zip-tys holding in the wiring. Make the breather hose go up higher than stock. Zip-ty the hose to the radiator mount and replace all other parts.
Or you can buy a filter to go on the end.

I know water isn't a problem where Ty rides, but you can route the stock hose to the air box opening under the seat and then zip-tie (no pun intended) a small piece of foam over the end as a filter. Under extreme riding maybe a bit of oil will make it to the foam - and then it's an oiled element! It water/mud proofs it as well for deep crossings.
