Hello -
TTR owners, I could use some help sorting out the jetting on a 2000 TTR250. Any questions you can answer would be great.
1) what are the stock main and pilot jets as the bike is delivered new?
2) what are the right jets/needle clip setting at or around sea level for the bike with the exhaust baffle and snorkel removed?
3) do you have any jetting suggestions for an uncorked (baffle/snorkel) bike that is run at 8,000 to 13,000 feet in Colorado?
Thanks,

Can anyone please help?

TexKDX: I had the same bike as you and Yamaha doesn't supply the dealers with any different jetting for the bike. I ended up getting a whole new carb (Mikuni) from Stroker Racing. I think that is your only answer. Good luck!

I agree with TTR Dave. I would definately go with the Stroker carb. It makes quite a difference. Well worth the money you would spend.

I have rejetted my TTR 250. There are jets available for the stock carb. They are not listed in the parts book. If I remember right, they use the same prefix as TY 80. If you need more info, contact me and I'll look it up.

Jets etc are available but you need to get them off the other models that use the same brand carb. I think its a Teki (?) I remember I fronted the parts counter with the jet in hand and the parts guy dug out virtually the whole range of sizes. The carb brand is used on the older TT 4 stroke series. I'm not sure that USA got that range.
It is possible that Mukini and Kehin jets will fit but that can be difficult to work with as the sizing is different. The TTR's we get are very lean. If yours is so we went up the main jet really big and then one clip leaner on the needle. Im doing this from memory but bike went really well after jetting.
