Rear shock compression

On my friends 1995 KTM 125sx he thinks the suspention is to soft on the rear. Where is the compression and which one is the rebound. The one on the botton or on the side. Thanks for any help......

Usually the one at the top at the reservoir is compression and the one at the bottom on the clevis end is rebound.
