RUSH- Live in concert

I saw RUSH live last night, out here on Long Island. Great show, they played very tight, and in sync. They opened with the usual, "Tom Sawyer", then played around 25 songs. The show started 15 minutes late, and they played a good hour before taking a 15 minute break. Favorites such as "Limelight", "Working Man", and "Spirit of Radio" were awesome. They also played about 4 songs off Vapor Trails- Ghost Rider was particularly sweet. If anyone gets a chance, get out there this summer and see them. They rock!!!

ps- And nothing beats Neil Perts killer drum solo!

Rush is the best live performance I have ever heard, as far as keeping everything tight and balanced.

The local scalpers are getting $100 per ticket. Looks like I'll miss it. :whiner:

Here and all this time I thought Rush just had his little radio show. I didn't know he did rock 'n roll concerts.

How did he look? Has he been losing weight? I bet he really jams on the ol' electric geetar!

:D

Saw them twice during the late seventies. First time they were awesome, second time they had an off night and sounded pretty bad. Glad to hear they are back at it. Would love to see them again, especially if they are doing the older material. Hopefully a West Michigan stop is part of their tour.

Ticket prices? I think I paid five or six bucks the first time I saw them play live and Pat Travers was the opening act! Hopefully they will not follow the Who’s lead and charge horrendous prices for their tickets this time around.

i saw them in tulsa, 1980. my g/f commented "it's just three guys making all that music?"

My tickets were right in the middle of a 8500 seat ampitheatre, and they were $49.50 each. :scream: Still worth it, tho.

Niel Peart is just simply amazing. I have got to be the only 16 year old kid that listens to Rush. I got into them mostly because of Niel Peart's drumming (I also play drums) and I found out they are all very good musicians that also make great music. One of the best acts to ever come outta Canada! My favorite song has got to be "Tom Sawyer" for sure!

Yeah, I think fifty bucks is a fair price for a ticket. I would gladly pay that amount, given the chance.

However, the Who is coming to town next month and their tickets are $275.00 for the good seats. I think the cheapest option is about a hunnert a pop! No thanks.

i kinda doubt that they are coming now.

I heard recently that they are going ahead with the tour as planned. I don't plan to attend however.

They're still touring, got a session player to fill in at bass.

Dont count Townsend and Daltrey out. Those dudes are still going strong, and will carry the torch for Entwhistle.

Tickets here have really gotten out of control. I usually see 3-4 shows during the summer, (love those outdoor concerts), but this year Im down to 2. :whiner:
I also paid $75ea for Aerosmith tix in almost the same section.

Thats awesome Joe!

"Ahhemm Hello, my name in Kyle, Im 16 years old, and I like Rush."

I don't like hight ticket prices, but the artists have to make their money somehow, since it is so easy to pirate the music these days, cd sales must be WAAAY down...

True. I could get the whole new Vapor Trails CD online and burn it for the cost of a blank CD-R. Maybe .10 cents. But that would be stealin, right?
