xr80 cylinder help??

i wont come off! i have everything else off but it wont budge. any help?

try using wd-40, you need to jiggle it back and forth and try and pull the cylinder off the gasket, the base gasket is what makes it soo hard to get it off. if you really need to, use a screw driver to get it a little loose but make sure if you scratch anything to touch it up with a really fine grit of sand paper. again i would only use the screwdriver if your desperate.

i have petraining oil on it now and it will set untill monday. i hope it comes off.

Use a rubber mallet and strike the side of the cylinder at 45º. YOu can whack it pretty hard with the rubber mallet and not damage the cylinder.
I'd try not to use the screw drive method because you can really scar the sealing surface. If you do use something to pry it off do it under the ear where the cylinder bolts to the case. at least there isn't a sealing surface. I have gotten cylinders that were siezed on the piston off by using the mallet method.
