Im getting a Honda 125, What do i need to know about dirtbiking and stuff? Dont really know where to ride and stuff, so just kinda help me out, thanks

That's a pretty broad question 125. If I can give you any advice, it's to learn to take your time and make sure you get comfortable doing the basics on the bike before you decide to jump it 90 feet.

If you're in Nevada, then you probably have enough areas to ride. I would suggest finding a friend or someone that has ridden for a while to show you the ropes and the trails.

GOOD LUCK!

Welcome to DRN. You will find lots of usefull information around here. Most question that you have more than likely have already been asked so you might want to do search first.

Check the "places to ride" forum for rides in your area. Each year we do a ride at Moonrocks. It's an awesome place to ride. You can check out some photos from this years ride in Reno. http://www.dirtrider.net/TeamDRN/sh...cat=508&thumb=1

Enjoy your new home.

Dang i made the wrong name! lol, im getting a Yamaha 125

Use your imagination a bit & choose a unique username. It could even be something dumb (like Thumbs!). Stay away from any and all names like CR125Dude, 250MXGuy or 02KDXMan. You'll eventually get a different bike & then what are you gonna do? It's impossible to tell all of these people apart (no offense RM250kid). So not only is it shortsighted, but it's confusing to the rest of us. Insidious b@st@rd$! .

Oh yeah, BTW...welcome

Lies! All lies! - well some lies.
:whiner:

What exactly are you insinuating, CR125_knucklehead_Guy?

Hmmm yes, I believe the handle came from .... well .... Captain Jack's is a widely reknowned establishment in Budapest Hungary. They're famous for their, uh .... entertainment!

I should have known. Dirty boy!

I was in the same shoes as you a few months ago. There's lots to learn and know, the best thing to do is find a bike and start riding. Make sure you have appropriate gear before you ride though! If you can, figure out what type of riding you'll be doing. I don't know your area but some people prefer motocross riding, some prefer trails, and some like both. I thought I was going to be a trail rider but after getting out on the track, I'd just as soon stay out of the woods.

If your lucky, you'll be able to link up with some experienced riders who can help you along. Good luck!

That is the best advice yet... thanks Linus.
