What type of riding are you planning on doing.

I'm assuming you have done a good bit of trails but what type? Wide fire roads, ATV wide trails or tighter stuff? Do you ride with a group or do you go to practice areas? What do your friends ride?

I ride in tight trails, atv trails, mx tracks and dunes. my friends ride an xr100, kx100, and kdx220 and o want to keep up and maybe beat them so what do u think

I'd say at your height and 7 years experience, you would be happy with a cr/yz/kx/rm 125 for quite a while. 80 is already too small i think. Pick yer favorite hue.

Well, if you want to beat them just practice. The bike won't do it for you.
I have seen a guy on a KX100 win a motocross race in the 125C class and I've seen kids on XR100's finish top 5 in the 80D MX class.

The KDX is a great bike to grow on. If you have some growing to do I highly recommend it.

Growing up I had a DT100 and an RM125. A guy up the road had a KDX200. He rapidly became a better rider (although I never admitted it) on the KDX while I was intimidated by the RM for a long time.

However, on tight enough trails I could walk for him while I was on the DT.

What is your budget like? How mechanical are you?

i am buying a used dirtbike no more than 3,000 buks and i am ok at mechanical stuff

Unless you want to race you can pick from any used 125 (I prefer blue) or get a KDX200. Personally I think the KDX200 is better as a play bike than an MX bike b/c the power is very manageable and the bike overall is very versatile and very easy to work on IMO. The KDX forum and JustKDX site is extremely helpful for KDX owners.

Where do you live? That will play a part b/c the KDX200 is not the best for the sand dunes in Glamis but it wonderful for the woods in the South East.

Me smells the odor of a troll. That said, I've been wrong before.

Well, nobody can decide for you. I suggest if you want specific information on any bike that you do a search.

Depending on your size an 80 will be a good bike but you may outgrow it rather quickly. Good luck with your choice.

I'm leaving the line.

you are already way too big for the 80.

I'm 5'6, and 110lbs and I feel like the jolly green giant on mine. A 125 or the kdx will suit you fine.
