Front tyre poor grip

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Now it is summer and I am riding in hard pack( I have inflated my new hard tyres front 14 PSI and rear).
When cornering at low speed at 1/4 of throttle it seems that the front is loosing grip, when braking and accelerating everything seems ok.
I think that I should go 1 or 2 clicks out in front rebound. Can you please inform me if I am in the right way ?
Thanks alot.

Try going back to 12 psi. It will make the tire bulge a bit and put more tire surface to the ground. Plus that's what most manufacturer's recommend.

Less rebound dampening will help the wheel return quicker and help keep it planted on the ground.

I would to keep the pressure to avoid a pinch or damage a wheel, so I am going to try decrease the rebound 2 or more clicks.

Thanks all.

I thought that a fast rebound is what makes the front end wash out?

It can but too much rebound dampening and the front end can pack and settle into a stiffer and less responsive part of the fork. The best way to adjust it is to go to the extremes and record the effect and then back it off until it works the way you need it to work.

Raise your forks a cpl MM's.

my vote is to lower the forks. especially if you roll off the gas and the bike tends to wash out. this move changes steering geometry and moves some of the static weight off the front wheel. it will make the bike more stable although it wont "knife" into turns. sometimes terrain conditions wont allow for the usual sit on the tank to keep the front end on the ground method.

Make sure you have your sag on the rear shock set right too. If there is too much sag in the back the front end won't be weighted properly.

I have 100mm of sag. It worked very well till I changed for new tires and a little bit of more pressure.
I think that can be fixed by decreasing the rebound 2 or 3 clicks and keeping the same pressure...Well I going to test this next Sunday(My prefered day of the week ) and I will revert you with the results next Monday.
Have a nice weekend and a good rides.

When are you checking your PSI. As the tire heats up it will gain PSI causing more pressure then you had wanted.

moto278
I check the pressure before riding.

I have fixed it with 2 clicks(less rebound).

Thanks for everyone.
