My friend has a 1984 kdx 200 and he is wondering what his ratio is 4 it. he thinks its about 40:1 but it cant b cuz its a older 2 stoke and they need more oil. i haev a 2001 2 stroke and mine is 32:1 so his should be aroun 28:1. I was just wondering what it is for his bike.
Thanks,
Kyle

What type of oil is he using?

Where have all the smart people gone?

Wow..

Okay, here's some good info, from my Sponsor, Maxima..

http://www.maximausa.com/technical/oilmigration.html

Basically what it says that a small high revving engine has less contact time with the oil. A larger, slower revving engine has longer contact time with the oil, so you can use a bit less...

With that said, there is no advantage to putting in less oil, except that you save money on oil.. But a crank rebuild cost more than any oil I've ever bought.

Click around the Maxima site, they have some really good unbiased info.

Jon!

read this .jmutiger....where have all the smart people gone?....lol http://www.ericgorr.com/techarticles/carbtuning.html#m

32:1 is usually a good mixture... but many mixtures should run through your bike just fine, provided the carb is jetted to match

The OEM Book states 32:1 I perfer 40:1
