All right, who's going and what are the trails like? Are they copious amounts of sand? Any hills? Water crossings? Mud wallers? Are the trails similar to Hattisburg?

Thanks,

Shawn

Posted by: MARK IT---------------------

Shawn, there arnt many hills but there is some sand and if you remember hattisburg, that's about it. Tim can tell you more.
We'll be there for the HS and Enduro. I hope it rains though.

Posted by: Lemming---------------------

KDXfile and I will be there Sat around 11 for the HS and staying for the enduro on Sun. I've ridden the enduro there before but not the HS. Is it mostly open with lots of sand whoops? Any tight spots? The reason that I ask is that I'm planning on running the MC250 on Sat so that I don't bust up the 200 for Sunday. The 250 does great in the more open stuff but is a handful (for me at least) in the tight stuff.

That bike I'm sure will make it. They just name a new pinball machine after you

Posted by: 121---------------------

How will Chad Earl's motorcycle make it through both races, it has yet to make it through one race here latley.

Posted by: Lemming---------------------

Is there a possiblity that you can leave one thread devoid of Earl? Maybe you shoud ask Okie to open an Earl forum for you guys so we don't have to put up with this crap.

Posted by: CNM---------------------

I'll be there late Saturday. I can't leave Birmingham until about 2:00 or so. It's Cody's 6th birthday and we've got to do the Chuck E Cheese thing. Man, why don't they call that place what it is 'a place to dump alot of money in a short amount of time'. Were else can you spend $25 on games to win tickets so you can get a toy that came from the dollar store See everyone there!

Posted by: lawman---------------------

i'll be there mid-day on sat. it's prob about 5 hours or so from mempho. i hope to bring some fellow mmc members who've done hs races but no enduros, who've expressed interest (we'll see if they really go). see ya'll there!

Posted by: Timr---------------------

Bring Mikeb!!! He'll love an enduro. Too bad I'll won't be there because of a family vacation.

Posted by: sharp---------------------

Is AMA sign-up available at the race?

Posted by: Timr---------------------

AMA membership is available at the race sign up.

Posted by: kdxjr---------------------

Lemming,
I don't want to say much about the HS course, but ahh, bring both bikes!

Posted by: 121---------------------

Hey Lemming,
this post is the Laurel Ms race. Chad Earl will be at this race and has a chance to overall, we can talk about him, Carter, Reed, Litsey, Bearden, Boreing, and Knight all that I want too under this post, isn't this post for Laurel's track conditions and the top riders that will be there. The only reason we talk about Earl so much is because we back him 100%!! I you even knew him a little you would know that he does not mind at all.

Posted by: PimpRacer---------------------

Has it rained down there in the past week?

Posted by: KTM-Lunatic---------------------

Im planning on being there , My son is still a little discourged but He should be with me. From what Ive heard is the course is not to hard with no (dead rabbit sections ) a little tight but not like breezyhill

Posted by: MARK IT---------------------

Chuck Earl, never heard of him! The HS was nice last year till I came
out of a turn and there was a old dead tree (roots and all) in the trail,
twisted my knee badly but made the Enduro the following day.
PR, Im about 40 mi away and it rains here everother day this time of the year.
Lemming, the HS course is or was very twisty but I dont remember and real tight sections.

Posted by: kdxjr---------------------

KTM-Lunatic,
I know your son will finish this race, no dead rabbit sections.
What row are you two on?
Its raining, right now.

Posted by: 121---------------------

It is Chad Earl, then you must not go to many SERA races. He is one of SERA's finest racers!!

Posted by: cgreene---------------------

"...one of SERA's Finest racers"? Looks like he is currently 46th overall and 9th in the OPEN A class in enduro pts standing. 121 -- promoting your buddy is admirable...but don't go crazy. Looks like he has a long second half of the enduro season to break Top 20.

Posted by: MARK IT---------------------

121, Dont get ruffeled up now, I'm just messing with ya! Everyone knows who Brad Earl is.
Lets hear some of the trail info, and can someone get the time and miles up?

Posted by: ktmracer---------------------

actually its brad billy robinson.......

Posted by: steve lafon---------------------

Do you have to be a member of anything other than ama to ride the enduro ?

Posted by: lawman---------------------

nope, just the ama. your bike needs a spark arrestor & there may be a sound check.

Posted by: JasonWho---------------------

How do they handle camping at the race? Do you just find a spot in the "parking area" and pitch a tent? I plan to come down on Saturday and camp instead of getting a motel. How do they handle all that? It is all new to me, so any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you,
jasonwho
I'll be in the C 86-225 class

Posted by: Lemming---------------------

Pick a spot and pitch the tent. If this one is in a National Forest Campground (I think it is), you probably should put all adult beverages in a non-discript container.

Posted by: Cannonracer---------------------

Hey cgreene,
Why don't you and Chad Earl compare score cards on sunday. I will put money on it that he will beat you. The reason he is low in the points is due to bike trouble.

Posted by: steve lafon---------------------

does this race require membership in any clubs other than ama ?

Posted by: ktmracer---------------------

read lawmans reply

Posted by: cgreene---------------------

Cannonracer -- I know who Chad is and there is no doubt he could smoke my ass. I was just messing with "121", but you took the bait instead of him. I am from the 'ville, you know! Lets see how fast you guys are when you are 40+, wife and two kids, active law practice, blah, blah. Bettter go fast while you are still young!!!!

Posted by: Lemming---------------------

cgreene - 121 did take the bait just under a different name. If I was a betting man I'd say that 121, Cannonracer, and Pimpracer (I may have forgotten one or two such as GasGasSmoker, etc) are multiple personalities of the same B225 enduro rider with the initials TR

Posted by: 612---------------------

Ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! It seems as though the crafty Lemming has solved another one!!!!
You ought to be a detective!!!!!
Don't forget, he is a 200 A harescramble rider !
As far as EARL goes, I have but one thing to say,
"GET A BIKE, GET A FINISH!"

Posted by: 121---------------------

Earl will be on a 03' KX when VCC gets one in.

Posted by: lawman---------------------

jason--you can pitch your tent right by mine, so long as you don't keep me up all night bugging me about whether this earl guy's bike will hold up, etc., & you don't mind the noise of my generator, or listening to cgreene & me swap crazy-client lawyer war stories all night by the camp fire.

Posted by: 121---------------------

Why would yall even think his bike would hold up?

Posted by: William1322---------------------

I am 49 and requested to be in the back rows....C rider, new and slow.
I'll be on a xr400 .Driving 97 Maroon Chev xtened cab truck. My name
is William

Posted by: Lemming---------------------

How's the weather been down there? Should I expect dust or more dust?

Anyone know how long the HS course is and are we racing for 2 hours?

Posted by: Cannonracer---------------------

The longer the better.

Posted by: Roughrider---------------------

who won, and how bad was carter injured?

Posted by: D Lafleur---------------------

Anybody stick around for the results? Left in the rain, had to get the rig out before the mud got too deep.

Posted by: lawman---------------------

hey derin, i was hoping you had the results, i saw that storm coming so i packed up & was gone before you got back. we were home by 6 pm, a new record. we hit that storm while driving & i wondered if it messed everyone up getting out. does anybody know if the results are available w/o calling the guy 1 at a time & driving him nuts?

Posted by: lawman---------------------

just heard that nolan knight won; brian petty won open a & lucas comeaux got 2d in open a. those are all the results i have right now.

Posted by: rolls_cycle---------------------

Does anyone know who flipped their truck and rig on I-59 south near Poplarville? Came by and saw white Ford Supercrew pulling a toy hauler but didn't recognize anyone. There were about 7 bikes in the ditch with just as many gas cans along the fence. It looked like a gas stop. Let us know. Didn't look like anyone was hurt, but state police wouldn't let anyone stop.

Posted by: KTM-Lunatic---------------------

Now I know I complained about Breezy Hill being to Hard , And I wanted a race that was a little easyer ,I got it . A little to easy My son even did real good for his 2nd race he finished only 16 min behind at the last check , And Im sure the results have changed but when i left I was in 6th in C Open , This was the first race that I became restless at the resets and wanted to go ,but had to wait 5 min or so. Laurel was a very fast and fun race I just wish the short course was about 10 miles longer. I felt a little weard setting back at the truck an not being exhausted. But It was fun

Posted by: moose377---------------------

this race sounds fun how far of a drive is it from memphis?

Posted by: Lemming---------------------

I enjoyed the race. I would have been dissapointed had I only ridden the short course, some of the best trail was on the long course. The HS on Saturday was also a blast, good trails and the dust wasn't all that bad unless you were a caboose. I ended up 3rd in VetB for the HS, didn't stick around to see the enduro results but I'm guessing that 121 kicked my butt in B225

Posted by: Bfaster---------------------

Hey John, I got out of there while I still could, the new truck has Highway tires. Let me tell you, that rode was slick hauling 8500+ lbs. of gear, family, and rig. We took it slow and easy on that slick turtleback road.
I also saw the wreck on 59 south of Poplarville, the state police looked like they had it under control and their appeared to be no one injured. I wouldn't have wanted to exchange places with those guys. I thought I saw a SERA license plate on the back of the rig, but I cannot be sure. They had us going by at about 40 and I had enough to worry about. I hope it turns out better than it looked for those guys.
John I concur with you, we don't need to start bugging these guys, even though we would really like to know the results. KDXJR. who posted here earlier, appeared to be working with the club, maybe he could make some unofficial posting of the results. By the way it is I D Lafleur, with a second handle at the house. I didn't want to get accused of any undue Earl bashing or anything.

Posted by: Lemming---------------------

HS scores are posted on the SERA site.

Posted by: lawman---------------------

hey derin, i figured that was you & that you had multiple names so you could get away with bashing that poor earl guy, like that guy with all the different names who is like a 1-man army of earl-bashers.

that was some storm! hope everyone is alright from the wreck--what a scare that must have been. i was glad i wasn't pulling my trailer.

it was a fun course, but i suspect i didn't do all that well. i'm a slow starter, & a race that short isn't my strong suit. i crashed my brains out once, hard enough that the bite valve flew off my drink hose. it was hot enough that i looked for it until i found out & could put it back on; the guys who got by me while i was looking must've thought i'd lost a contact lens! i decided that discretion was the better part of valor & did not do the long course, & when the storm blew thru, i was glad i hadn't.

hey moose, it took me less than 6 hours to go from the camp back to my 'hood in midtown memphis, & that includes a stop for gas & a nice long lunch break. the next 2 are even closer to mempho, in alabama. if you want to go, email me at jbranson@jglawfirm.com & i'll hook you up with the info you need.

Posted by: Bfaster---------------------

John, You really need to get back into the real world, man what are you doing writing up posts at 01 hours. The rest of us are sleeping or ******. I would have been dissappointed with just the short ride also. However you may have been less excited about that last test section. We rode 18 for 2miles, then 27 for something like 11 miles, the last 4 miles being the same as mile 2-6 from earlier. By the time we got to the "enchanted forest" it was wooped, rooted, and the stumps looked bigger. Like I said somewhere else, thats a little exciting at 30+ mph.

Cheers Mate and see you on the trail.
Darin

Posted by: moose377---------------------

hey lawman the next two races u r talking about are they enduros or hare scrambles

Posted by: Bfaster---------------------

Moose, Enduros Rockford AL and Perry Mountain.

Posted by: lawman---------------------

hey derin, it was about 6 am, i think my clock settings must be off. you have verified my decision to call it a day; i got really hot while loading all my stuff ahead of the rain/cold front.

hey moose, the 1s i am talking about are the enduros. sera has hs races too, but i'm not doing those this year. you can see the whole schedule on the sera website.

Doubt it. It's obvious that 121 can't go five minutes without posting some useless crap about his lover.

Posted by: 121---------------------

He's not my lover, He's my role modle.

Posted by: JasonWho---------------------

Well, honor him in silent admiration, please.

Posted by: 121---------------------

It a free country. I can speak what I please!

Posted by: WoodsRider---------------------

It's still a free country, but this is a private website.

Posted by: D Lafleur---------------------

Most of Society doesn't ever get that. Good one Woodsrider.

Posted by: 121---------------------

Yea, but what have I done wrong?

Posted by: JasonWho---------------------

121, most people are reading this thread for information directly related to the Ridge Runner Enduro in MS. I don't think your hero worshipping is within the guidelines of usage of this private website as it concerns this thread.

Posted by: CNM---------------------

Hey Jason,

I asked a guy on a KDX if he was you but no luck! I hope you had a great time. I thought the trail was really fun. Are you going to Rockford?

Posted by: 121---------------------

Hey Jason, do I know you?

Posted by: Lemming---------------------

Enduro scores are posted

Posted by: JasonWho---------------------

CNM, no I didn't make it. I worked on my front brakes until too late in the day to make it down in time. I can't make it to Rockford, and I see they have cancelled the October race, so I am trying to make it to the November one.

Bummed,
jasonwho
