Roselawn IN. Enduro 8/25

Does anyone know any details of the upcoming enduro in Roselawn IN? I raced there in April and was wondering if its pretty much the same or not. Specific question on gas stops - does it loop back to starting area like it did in April?
I am sure of one likely difference...more chance for "bares" in late August than early April!
TIA

Pretty much the same terrain. Usually stops in the lot for gas but sometimes there is a gas trailer if no stop in the lot.

The course wil be the same but maybe backwards. They also sometimes run the long section as a 20 mile test instead of like in the spring where it was 2 10mile tests. I heard that they added about 10miles of new trail to, should be fun.

Does anyone know how many people they are running on each minute ?
Working headlight, tailight and plate required ? What is the start time.
Thanks Weld it

They usually put 5 on a minute, the post card I got said you had to have lights and plate and Key time is 10:00am. Sign up at 7 or 7:30 I think Sunday only. I know they like you to have lights mounted, I don't think they are real picky if they work or not and not to concerned about the plate as I have friends that never run a plate there. But like most clubs it is your responibilty if you get in trouble.
Weld it, I see you are from IA, Stratfords enduro got postponed to this weekend in case you didn't know.

Flyinryan,
No, I did not know that Stratford got postponed. I was surprised that they
had the same weekend as Millville. Now we got to decide which way to go.
Thanks for the info.

Another perspective is that the clubs establish a relationship with the local authorities and can be under the gun if many bikes are not within the established parameters to ride all the route of the event. So then the local authorities get upset and may not allow the club the land or permits to run the event the next time. It takes a great deal of work, time and planning to run an Enduro and it's really not a money maker for the clubs, they do it because they have a passion for the continuance of the sport. So IMHO I think it's best if you comply with what ever is required by the club to compete in the event if you want to continue to have that event each and every season. Land is dwindling for off roaders each and every year, do what you can to preserve it. OK, I'm off my stool now. Thanks for listening.

Fred T, I think my statement came out the wrong way. I meant that the club can only do so much to make riders be street legal and if try to ride and are not legal then you get in trouble then it's your fault. I have put on Enduros for my whole life, my dad drug me along to cut trail, arrow, etc as soon as mom would let. I know how hard it is to get permission from landowners as I help put on the Forest City Riders enduro in Byron, IL (Dist 17). At our enduro I will not let anyone start without lights mounted, it's the riders responibilty if they work or not. I have always had my bike as legal as possible, in fact I overalled a local enduro when the cops had a checkpoint setup and were checking everyones lights, plates, insurance, etc. I had all the stuff (I was riding a YZ 250 at the time) and got through the stop the fastest. I get upset also when people complain about having to mount lights, most of the people that complain don't help put on an enduro and don't know how hard it is. As far as the money making, I know that you don't put an enduro on to make money. My club does an off-road poker run in the fall that makes alot more money for the club than the enduro, in fact for the past 2 years the majority of the club has wanted to quit doing the enduro and just do 2 poker runs. My dad, myself, and another member fight each year to put the enduro on because we love to do it.
Sorry to ramble just wanted to defend myself from a bad statement. Anyone that knows me knows I love enduros as much as anybody and want them to stay around for years to come.

Ryan,
I knew what you were saying and I know you really like enduros. You and your Dad do put a lot of work into the enduro.
If Stratford is not postponed again are you going there or Roselawn? With the amount of rain Stratford must have had this week I don't see how they will be able to run it with out it being a mess.
At this point I'd rather go to Roselawn but will probably go where Phil goes. At least I'll have him to come back and ride my bike out of those big valleys after the race is over. Aint no way I'll get out by myself.
I know he'll help because I'll have the car keys with me.

I think Ryan and Fred are saying the same thing. The street legal issue was huge at the Jack Pine enduro. We had two guys get tickets for not having license plates on their bikes (it happened to be two guys who were working and not racing the event). Fred and I both worked at the Jack Pine this year.
Ryan, good luck this weeknd!! Maybe I'll see you at the National enduro at Goshen later this year.
