I have the option to buy a trail tech computer for my bike for 72.00. is this a reasonable price and a good brand, what is everyone's take on having a computer, thanks in advance, I was thinking it might be cool to be able to track my avaerage and current speed and distance when we are out in the desert,

If all you need is your current speed, trip distance, and average speeds (not enduro type information), then go to Walmart. In the bicycle section is an electronic speedometer for $30 called the "Next-Panoram". It's good and it's cheap.

Buy the Trail Tech computer. It is very cool! I bought one for my CR and loved it, only problem I had was the sensor got trashed from rock hitting it, but Trail Tech solved the problem and sent me a FREE replacement cable (updated version yoo with no epoxy).

so how does it hook on to calculate the speed and distance. does it hook on to the fork and then a sensor on the rim? can I reset the timer on it with a button or something so if I'm riding track I can see my lap times? thanks for filling me in,

Jeff go to www.trailtech.com for more info, but I'll help, the sensor hooks onto the caliper mount with a screw (you have to drill a 1/8'' hole) and a magnet going onto the inner part of the front disc. Trail Tech's website will explain more then I can! (computer is a bit confusing at first :confused

If you buy the version for pedal bikes, make sure the cable is long enough.
SOme guys find the pedal version not as tough as the moto version.
I have the moto version and love it.

so they will hold up to a day at the track with no problem? I just don't want to be taking it on and off when I change my riding areas. Also I looked at the website and it helped alot, I've got pro tapers so I'll probably be cutting the bar pad to accomadate the computer, any tips on this? thanks so much for the info guys.
