Shock oil change

Is it possible to change shock oil without taking the whole shock apart? It looks like a person could fill the oil through the compression adjsuter.
I am planning to send the shock off (1997 YZ 250) to someone during the winter months, but would like to change the shock fluid for the time being. Thanks!

Dude don't do it.. Its posible, but of little help IMO.. Take a look at my shock rebuilding isnstructions and do it right.

Sounds good! I will do it the right way. Can it do any harm? Anymore this is my first rule of working on this bike.
