Has anyone evr raced it? Trying to get some info on what to expect.
Been to one harescramble there back in the late spring. Does it have a tough reputation?
Posted by: Lemming---------------------
Toughest one on the SERA circuit, but man I love riding there. Expect a little bit of everything from some nasty rocky uphills to sand whoops. Last year they had so many off cambers and steep hills that I thought I was a mountain goat. Still, I look forward to this enduro every year.
Posted by: Roughrider---------------------
Will be somewhat easier than in years past. Well, let me change that, it will be somewhat shorter.
Posted by: JasonWho---------------------
Speaking of shorter, any mention of a short course? I am going to try to make it to this one, and it will be my first.
Posted by: sharp---------------------
I never thought so much sand could be in that area of the state. There are some sections that I have great affection for. Just realize that leaves may cover some interesting obstacles --- hopefully I can make to the gas stop!

Good luck to all that start this event!!!
Posted by: kawy---------------------
The race will consist of two sections that total less than 50 miles, but don't worry about having to look down at computer a whole lot "you will be late."
***** Kids race will be Saturday At 2:00 PM, three courses little kids .6 miles, sera kids 2.5 to 3.00 miles, and SETRA kids 6.0 to 7.0 miles.*****

Speak for yourself.

I've been riding Maplesvill since the late 60's. Yes it has a reputation.
That's why you go to an event like that. It's what an enduro is all about.
Try it.
Posted by: RanMan---------------------
I should be there. According to football schedule to whether my son makes it Sat. or not. This will be my third enduro. My first was Clanton several months ago. For a beginner, that was tough. Sprained my wrist about 10 miles
into it and had difficulty pulling in the clutch, so by the time I finally got to the gas stop, I was looking for the truck. Sure was hot that day too. My first harescramble was there at Maplesville. Hot then too. Was doing ok till I got completely buried in mud hole on my third lap for 45 minutes and finshed
20 out of 30. Tell you what, I've been into dirt bikes for about a year now and I never thought the fever could get so high. I'm not very good, but love it and I've met alot of really great folks.

Kawy, Will there be an area we can warm up on Sunday? Some of us in the Hurricane belt havent had a ride since Rockford?
Do you know of some area nearby, where we may be able to ride on Saturday? I am not particular, I would ride MX just to warm up.
Thanks

Bfaster who are you?
Posted by: enduro400---------------------
Any particular reason for the no practice trails on Saturday? My son races on Saturday and afterwards we USUALLY make a few laps to check bikes and such. Has there been to much rain, or has the race been shortened so much that all of the trials have been used for the race?
Thanks and see ya'll there!!!!!!!
Posted by: Cannonracer---------------------
There has not been to much rain at all. The main reason is we are puting on a Setra "big kids" race which the trail will be around 7 miles and we are doing our best to keep that event near camp so we had to use the near by trails for that race.
Posted by: Bfaster---------------------
121, I sent you my current info. Check the messages.
Posted by: kawy---------------------
Sunday if you need to warm up bike the grass track will be ok to use.
*** The sera kids will be able to practice on Saturday from 12:00 To 1:30 if needed Setra kids do not get to practice per setra kids.****
*** Note signup & race will be at the old motorcross track follow dirt road past club house to track****

How's the weather been up there? The last front that passed through, did it bring rain and cold?
Posted by: ktmracer---------------------
Are the pmmc guys going to require a spark arrestor?? I have never ridden one of their enduros.
will
Posted by: Res Ipsa---------------------
I plan to ride on Sunday, but I have not yet signed up. Anyone interested in getting on a row with me? I plan to arrive on Saturday afternoon and would look to sign up then. Should be fun!
Posted by: kawy---------------------
Not needed all private land.
Posted by: RanMan---------------------
I would, but I won't be able to make it till Sunday morning. We all know what that means...........back row and 50 or so miles of ruts. Gonna be cool that morning.
Posted by: ktmracer---------------------
Kawy: thanks, that is what i figured but it says one is required on the event flier.
will
Posted by: cgreene---------------------
I am riding, but will not arrive until Sunday a.m. too. Any club members here that can provide info sufficient for me to rough out my rollchart? 24 mph average the whole way? Any help will be appreciated, as this will give me a jump on computer programming before sunday a.m. too. See everyone over there.
Posted by: enduro400---------------------
cgreen - not still looking for a ico double dashboard are you?? I still have mine, and will be in Mapplesville, do you want me to bring it?
Posted by: cgreene---------------------
Enduro400, sorry I have not gotten back with you on the dashboard. Too much work stuff going on these days. Bring it along and lets get together either before or after the race. Thanks.
Posted by: RanMan---------------------
Well, looks like a 70 percent chance of rain Sunday morning. Gonna be cold and wet too. Time for seperation of men from the boys. Question is....am I gonna be a man or a boy?
