Will the final round be interesting or is the title wrapped??

Not sure, I heard that Hawkins won it and Lafferty broke. This was from Scott H. He was there and got 2nd in Open A, 23 Overall.

With two rounds remaining, the AMA website had the points total as:

LAFFERTY 140
FRED HOESS 114
RANDY HAWKINS 101

So that would mean, without knowing where Hoess finished, that Hawkins is only 9 points behind Lafferty, if Lafferty didn't score a point. So if Hawkins wins at New Paris and Lafferty would finish 2nd, Lafferty would win the championship, depending on Hoess. If Hawkins wins and Lafferty takes 3rd they would tie on points but Lafferty would win the championship because of tie breaker rules, again depending on Hoess. So for Hawkins to win it all, best case senario/easiest to figure, Hawkins first, Lafferty 4th or lower, again depending on Hoess.

Of course all this thinking I just did could be thrown out the window "DEPENDING ON HOW HOESS FINISHED"

ps, so you can double check my points and tie breaker rules:

1. In order to be eligible for Grand National/National points, a rider must earn points in at least two (2) National events in the same class. Grand National points and National class points will be based on the following points schedule:

Finish / Points Finish / Points Finish / Points Finish / Points
1 - 30 6 - 15 11 - 10 16 - 5
2 - 25 7 - 14 12 - 9 17 - 4
3 - 21 8 - 13 13 - 8 18 - 3
4 - 18 9 - 12 14 - 7 19 - 2
5 - 16 10 - 11 15 - 6 20 - 1

Example: At a series event a rider may finish first in the 250cc class and third overall. He would receive 30 points for his 250cc class win and 21 points toward the Grand National Championship. Class points and overall "A" points shall be kept separately by the AMA.

2. The AMA/FMF Racing National Enduro Overall Champion will be decided by the points accumulated at all of the rounds on the AMA/FMF Racing National Enduro series schedule. Class champions will be decided by 3 less than the total number of events held in the series. Ties are broken by comparing the number of first, second, third, etc. finishes, until the ties are resolved.
