927 is for me

I just pulled the top end off of my bike, I been using amsoil 2000 at 44-1.The head and piston was cleaner with the 927 believe it or not.The power valves were about the same .What I am really concerned about is the intake side of the piston.The way the kx big intake port is set up, leaves vertical lines on the left and right side of the piston skirt,lined up with the ring end gap,trust me this is not dirt entering, all the lines on the pistons I have are the same.The piston with the amsoil shows more wear on the intake side (LINES THAT YOU CAN FEEL).The 927 piston shows way less wear and the line area is smooth.I ran the amsoil before with the same results on the intake side of the piston.I have ran other oils also that show the same wear as the amsoil such as super m,yamalube 2-r etc.The ports are chamfered beautiful,It is just the characteristic of the kx. I am not saying these oils aren't any good,but I am saying 927 is better for protection and excellent ring seal,CASTOR BABY!.I will be whipping out the propane torch every 15 hrs now. Oh, the real reason I am staying with the 927 is because of the smell. :scream:

Why does the manual for my 03 CR 250 say not to use castor oil?

I always used Blendzall on my bikes "back in the day", but since the manual was so insistent on it, I've been using Rock Oil for this one.

Why don't you give Mobil 1 2X2T at try, many happy customers use this oil. :thumb:

Guess what speed way,I just got back from abc autoparts,I bought home a few bottles of the mx2t.I have a fresh top end not started yet,The only reason I am giving this a try is because of the carbon deposits in the pipe and the main power valve, left from the 927,but man does the 927 lubricate.I paid 2.99 a pint for the mx2t.That is half the price of the 927,I hope I like it.I will post back after 50 hrs,after break down.

Castor based oils tend to run a little dirtier,may cause the power valve to gum up sooner.I had no problems with power valve sticking,but the main power valve flap had really hard carbon on it,which was a little difficult to remove.The sub exhaust valve port area had to be glass beaded to remove the carbon.
