Hi , Im selling my 01Gasgas EC 200 and want to try motocross and I have a line on a new CR. But after ridding my gasgas I now know how nice it is to have a GREAT bike and I don't want anything but the best so I need to know how the CR compaires

LOL dude the CR will stomp your EC into the ground and spit on it. The CR250 gets even better with a V-Force valve.

The mags are saying the motor isnt very good this year but what the hell- all the 250's are fast. The frame and suspension are supposed to be awesome. I've also heard that its easier to ride than other 2 strokes.

Hiw much is a V-force valve and what is it ????

The V-force is a reed cage assembly, they have a patent on a unique design that works extremely well. It retails at about $140 USD, they are about $260 Cdn. I bought mine from the U.S. and saved at least $50 after tax.

Hmmm interesting... one of the local MX fast guys here bought a 250cc Gas Gas because even though it wasn't necessarily a rocketship the Gas Gas was plenty powerful and very smooth. He still consistently places well in the money class everytime I see him ride. If money was a concern, it might be cheaper to keep the bike and try it for a few motos to see if you really like it rather than spending money on a MX bike and not liking it and wishing you had your woods bike back again.

The bike isn't really intended for MX and your bike would be at a little bit of a displacement disadvantage in the 250cc class, but I really would try a few races before I went all out. Also, displacement is not necessarily everything. Last year when I had my YZ 250F and was riding some MX, the only class I rode was the 250cc class and not the 125cc class as the bike was intended. I would still finish at least top 5 and and won one race in the novice class.
