ok,, i need new bike,, im coming off an old yz125,,, i ride 50/50 trails/mx...(beginner level) all jumps i do are 30 ft or less....

My choice is a kdx hopped up for light duty mx (stiff forks/seat, mx plastic),,, or a 250 done up for woods (flyweight, low gearing, soft seat) and it all comes to about a 1000 dollar difference.

I am kinda leaning toward the kdx cause you get so much for the money, and good bottom end for tricky hills

what do you guys think considering im not riding on pro level, or advance intermediate level.??

The KDXs are great bikes. I am an advanced trailrider and sportsman enduro rider and I am also considering one but with 50% MX in your future I would be leary of the KDX. The suspension on the KDX would have to be resprung and revalved for a MX track and a 200/220 doesn't fit any MX class well. If you don't need the lights a flywheel weight and a pipe would make the RM a fairly good woods bike (suspension may be a little harsh). If you are going to get serious about MX buy the RM, If you are mainly interested in trails and a good deal buy the KDX.

I also understand that the RM is a good trails MX because of the frame flexability and rake and trail. The RM will have better suspension. I would opt for the RM, I found that for the Michigan trails I ride which are tight and wooped out a lot also. I like the MX, over the KDX, but KDX has advantages as well. Power is better with RM. Just my .02 worth.
