YZ 250 '92/'93 shock swap

I have recently pruchased a shock off a '92 YZ 250 but it is slightly different than the one on my '93 YZ. At first glance it would appear that the bottom of the shock is the only thing that is different and I should be able to swap out those peices of the shock but I would like some input before i spend alot of time (possibly some cash) on making this work to replace my blown shock.

It depends on so many things-which parts are damaged on the 93 shock?
