I have a KLX 300 and the factory warranty runs out next month. I have a chance to extend the warranty 4 years for arround $400. I plan on doing some mods to it, such as new exhaust, intake mods., shift kit(already done), idler gear replacement & rejetting. Most with Stroker stuff. Does anyone have any experience with warranty and mods done to their bike? I don't race the bike, just trail riding.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Even with mods, i doubt you will have trouble with that bike.

Personaly, I would gamble with it. I do a lot of work myself on my bike and that bike is known for reliablity. I would do the mods and take the chances. If you change it from stock they might try to weisel out of fixing stuff anyway.

bought a 4 year warranty on my yz-f, they paid for my time to swap a trans and parts(10 years of SF and I can't sat Tranny anymore...)))))))...Read the fine print.
I always believed I could break anyhthing

[size=2]I have had two extended warranties on cars and will never buy another, they excluded ALOT that seemed to be covered. As SFO said read the fine pint. I have never had a Kawasaki extended warranty so my experience may be off base but read the print carefully!

Generally speaking, they only sell warranties to make money, not give it away. Odds are it won't pay for itself.

If this is the Kawasaki Good Times Protection Plan and you are "tight" with your dealer and his mechanic, I'd say get the warranty.
A friend of mine always buys the two-year warranty when he buyd a new KDX every other year. He'll punish the bike for two enduro seasons and it won't cost him a dime to repair anything. I do agree that extended warranties on new automobiles are a money-making scheme, but if you ride any bike hard enough off-road it's going to break.
