has anyone tried the dunlop d739g (4 stroke) tire? was wondering how and if they work.

I like the rear its good in a straight line but when learned over on the very edges it can get alittle squirly, its freaky cause it tended to just break loose all at once which could but you in a low side I feel that the 756 feels more planted even in the harder soils. I'm not a fan of 739 up front its okay on harder soils but it tends to feel like it wants to push to easy. I got a practically brand new D739FA front off my '03 if anyone wants to come to my house and pick it up

thanks mxp1mp,my rear tire is almost ready to be replaced. You probably ride the same place I do(Tahuya). So your opinion is appreciated. My choice comes down to either 756 or s12,whoever has the best deal.

how durable are the s12's and 756's? The tracks I most ride are not usually prepped and have a loose top and hard base. I had Maxxis surcross tires and they got shredded in 3 rides; not good for my pocketbook. I have 739's on my YZ and they are holding up well but I don't have much exp. with tires so i have no idea if they work or not.

I like the 756 in the rear its a great tire and it holds up just as well as the 739 does I've tested it by riding it at reiters (lots of rocks for non locals) I just put my first set of s12's on my 250F. My favorite combo was the 755F/756R I got a set of s12's from motosportsoutlet for 114. I really like the S12's so far all i've done is raced on tracks with'em bast last weekend at a mud race in woodland I never once noticed the tires in fact I have nothing to complain about with them and they've been wearing great. I was hoping I'd have something find I didn't like about'em so I could go back to the 755/756 combo but there's nothing in fact they are even better than that combo. I'll definetly buy another set once these wear out.

I'm into the new Dunlop 773's for the rear. I used to only run 756's and they're a great tire but do wear pretty fast. The 773 wear's a lot longer and still hooks up in the loose stuff. I've still got a 756 on front though. At least for now.

A guy at a local shop told me that he uses a 773 in the front and the 756 in back. The 773 front gives good wear ind traction in all types of terrain but the 773 rear gets shredded on anything but prepped tracks. He said that the 756 rear wears much better and with the 773 front you can really carve the corners. Anybody tried this?? I always thought the 756 rears would get shredded quickly but I was told they wear nice on differing types of dirt.

I think a little First hand knowlege would be preferred over the "what the guy Said".. Anyway, I can assure you I haven't touched a perfectly groomed track since Dirtweek 01 and the tire is holding out well. More specifically the conditions are loose, slippery mud of Ohio to Rocky ground of West Virginia. This is NOT a hard pack tire though and can see how it could come apart if you're running it on Blue groove. The 739 would be much better suited for that. Tires are made specifically for different terrains and you to need to run the tire that best meets your needs. I am saying that the 773 could be a good alternative to the fast wearing 756. I compare the 773 to the S12 but I personally prefer the Dunlop.

I just put on 773s in the rear and think it's a great tire for soft conditions. I rode in a lot of mud, wet sand and some rocky hills and it worked great. No chunked knobs, though some cuts. I'll probably go back to my 739 A/Ts pretty soon, as the "wet" season out here is short-lived. It's not too bad on hardpack, though. It will slide quite a bit, but somewhat controllably, and it can be kind of fun.
