426 flywheel weights

I just installed a stealy 12oz flywheel weight on my 02 426 and now it doesn't want to gain any rev's under half throttle, it didn't do this before but I knew that the weight would do this but not this bad. A friend told me that when you do put a flywheel weight on a fourstroke that your jetting and carb. settings have to be perfect or it really doesn't want to run right .So any recommedation on what wrong? or jetting spec's for riding in kansas just above sea level 1000 ft or i think
