I have had a z-Start in my CRF for about a month now, what do you want to know?

red 450, where did you get it? who sells, distributes it? how does it differ from the others? how much dinero? how does it work? on and on and on.

I got mine from Al Youngwerth in Boise Idaho, he is the inventor and manufacturer of the z-Start auto clutch. The website is still under construction but some information on how they work and installation instructions is there at WWW.Rekluse.com The clutch is going to sell for $400 US and comes with a one year warranty. So far there is one in Canada, one in Italy, one in Panama and thirty seven in the states. Unlike the Revloc or the EFM this clutch is just an rpm sensitive pressure plate that replaces your existing pressure plate not a whole clutch basket assembly. If you want to maintain a manual override and keep your clutch lever you can, thats what I did with my bike. It takes less than an hour to install, just lay your bike over and remove the clutch cover and stock pressure plate. You don't even have to drain the oil. The new unit just bolts in place where the stock pressure plate was. Both engagement and stall are fully adjustable by changing the number of tungsten carbide ball bearings and adjusting six small springs. The unit works exactly the same as a Revloc that I tried out, engagement is super smooth and full lockup is instant when you twist the throttle. On the ThumperTalk site there is lots of info on the z-Start.
