Are they going to run it in Supercross or wait until Nationals?
Posted by: Bucko---------------------
I was wondering that myself, I didn't hear any mention of it durning the webcast

The results don't list anybody in the Main event riding one

I heard that we'll have to wait for the nationals to see the CRF250 in action here in the states.

i read in a magasine that they had run it in a couple of races in japan and the bike performed well but the rider only got 2th. I think malbe i should reed that article over??????

You're right digger, Fonseca raced it in Japan and finished 1-2, I think for a 2nd place somehow behind Reed. Bragged about the bike a lot though.

Fonseca said that he could pull Reed's YZF on the hills.

I do know one thing, this is a awesome start to this years SX season
i can't wait to see it next the race weekend on Espn2 and i really can't wait to see everyone in daytona!

My guess is they didn't run the CRF otherwise I'm sure they'd have been talking about it. I wish they would though. :flame:
I can't wait to see how hard a block pass RC put on Pastrana. I hear RC was booed quite a bit. Should be a good show next weekend!

The CRF250 is NOT legal in AMA Competition.
The rules require that a machine be production based and meet Homogulation rules...meaning a certain number of machines must be available to the public 60 days prior (I think it's 60 days) to being eligible for competition.
The "Works Rule" for 4-strokes is a one time use rule. A factory may race a pre-production 4-stoke machine during one season only.
This rule is per factory. It is one use. It is NOT for each specific machine size.
Honda used its one time use rule with the CRF450
Yamaha used it's rule with the YZ400F
Yamaha did not race and was not eligible to race a 250 version (YZ250F) in the USA prior to its introduction. Fonseca debuted it at Anaheim 1, in 2001. A few months after its release to the public.
You will NOT see a CRF250 in competition untill after its release to the public.

I am curious to see how fast that CRF250 is when they take the big bore kit out of it!!

The bike will show up in the nationals. This is acoording to a honda representive. Most likely fonseca will be riding it at Glen Helen. Other than that you are right earthpilot, but the rule is per season if honda wanted to race the bike they could.

the first YZF at anaheim in the 125 class was 9th......thought the bike gave a rider an unfair advantage? maybe Yamaha just has a slow stable of 125 riders?
Posted by: nikki---------------------
Ahh no worries ktm033... all of the Yamaha of Troy hot shoes are racing the 125 East. Fonseca won a 125 SX crown on the '01. Reed on the '02. Look for Tedesco or Sellards to take the 125 East on the '03. (Unless Jesseman or Brown have something to say about it...
)
PS - in this years National AX series, the 250F has won 11 out of 12 125cc main events (Demuth, Hofmaster, and Lawrence all have wins). Lange was the only oddball on the green machine.

The CRF250 will be raced in the Nationals by Fonseca (I think).I was a little mad that he didn't ride it in Supercross, but he does do ok on his CR250 tho.We will all just have to wait till the very first 2003 National.
