SixSixOne Under Protectors

Has anyone used them? Do they give the same protection as regular chest protectors? I have be thinking about getting some and wanted to see if they are worth it or not.

I bought one, then I returned it. It's mostly made of closed-cell foam(?), no hard plastic. The shoulder pads kind of stick up, so when you put your jersey on, you look like a linebacker. Obviously, I didn't like it, but I guess it'd be ok for roost protection.

I bought one and the shoulders do stick up. I drilled a small hole in each shoulder and used zip ties to hold them down and it worked well. Not the same as a cheast protector, but for those who don't like the bulk of a cheast protector I think it's a good alterative. It covers a lot from roost and rocks, probably more than most cheast protectors, but doesn't offer the protection from another bike or object striking you.

All right thanks. What I am looking for is something that offers the same protection as a chest protector be goes underneath your jersey and isn't bulky.

Tom,
You may want to check the Thor Scattershield. It's kind of a cross between the typical under protector and the normal one. It works under jerseys.
