Hey all,
Now that the YZF450 has been out for a while, how is it holding up? Are you happy with the purchase? I am considering buying one, and am just looking for some good feedback.
Thanks

I havent had enough saddle time to give a good review of mine yet. So far i like it other than the 4 speed for woods riding. I'm not a big MXer and would of got the WR instead but due to circumstances and a good price i took it. After afew mods i should be very happy with my purchase.

I've got 4 really good rides on mine now and I really like it. Coming off of my WR, I keep looking for first gear, when I am all ready in first gear. This bike is a rocket and will, with out a doubt, out run the other 450's right now. I have had no problems with it other than it streched out that stock chain on the first ride. I then put an R3 on it. The only other thing is the clutch deal going on that is mentioned in the other thread, which is not a big deal. I will be getting the oversized tank for the general riding that I do, I dang near ran out of gas on my last ride of the day, last time I was out.

Yeah I am kinda curious as to how it does with trail riding. I ride some real tight single track pretty often. With the four speed, I would imagine a majority of the time I'd be in 1st gear. What do you think?

Tight trails, first gear for sure, with a couple fingers on the clutch. I had to turn my idle up from the stock setting and I was good to go. I have some real tight trail riding here but it all has about 2ft of snow over it up in the mountains. I will have to wait til spring for the woods test.

I've been doing both track and trail with mine. I had more trouble in the woods USING first gear. I've found that you can ride the this bike anywhere in any gear. Scary fast when you wick it up. I've still got the clutch issue but the parts are on order. I'm going for the big tank as well.

What's the deal with the clutch issue? I have heard a general problem related to clutch noise, but never really heard a explanation of the problem. Can someone give me some details regarding the problem and any suggestions on the fixes?
Thanks
