Looking for a helmet that "breathes"!!!

With all the new bikes and gear that is coming out lately, I'm really suprised somebody isn't making a cooler, breathable helmet. In the summer down South, my head heats up very quickly and I have to stop more often than I'd like. I'm currently wearing a $100. Fulmer. I'd appreciate any advice on this. Sometimes I get so hot I go for an easy ride without my helmet, which is stupid and I don't want the kids to see me!

According to the DRN review by Truespode and Okie http://dirtrider.net/drn_tested/m2r/m2r_revx.html the M2R helmets breath pretty good

They aren't cheap, but the Arai VX-Pro has amazingly good venting. You can feel the wind in your hair with your helmet on!

I'm very happy with my Arai MXC-Pro.

Ditto on that Kiwi Bird.

I like mine so much I had to get another one from Cam.

Thanks for the replies! I didn't think a helmet with good ventilation existed. Although I'm sure it'll cost more than my $100. Fulmer.........!!

Cut the lineing out of the face guard out of your helmet, it will make a big difference.

I agree with Cam. My Arai VX_Pro is the most comfortable helmet I have ever worn. Great airflow, and lightweight. All my riding buddies have their helmets off when we stop on the trails, and I have no need to take mine off.

The Fox Pro Pilot vents better than my VX-Pro (yes, that's what I said . . It's not as light as the Arai, but very comfortable, great materials and like I said, vents great. I'm beginning to like the Fox better than the Arai. $100+ cheaper too.

Wow, I'll have to try out a Fox once my Shoei is junked. The Shoei VFX-R doesn't breath as well as the Arai VX-Pro, but it fit me better.
Do you know if the Fox has a 'longer' feel to the inside of it? The Arai pressed tight against my forehead compared to the Shoei.

Humm... I didn't have that problem with the Arai and don't have it with the FOX, I don't think I can answer that question? I can tell you there are no pressure points, just a nice snug feel all over.

About the venting... unlike the Arai, the Pro Pilot has air channels molded into the helmet shell, ie; there is actually room for the air to flow above your head, it fits in a way that allows these channels to be unobstructed.

: Insert obvious joke about the shape of Cam's noggin here :

I got the fox pilot that helmet breathes good, right now fox is discounting the '02's on thier site (last time I looked was a few weeks ago) for only $189! I got mine for 300! Thats a good price for a really nice lid.
