Alright I am gettin a new bike. I am 100% sure I am gettin an 03 baby F. Alright so what I want to know is, what have been your reaction to the bike, how it handles, the power: where and when is the power best, your break in procedure, things you would have now changed about that procedure, what you did along the lines of greasing and whatnot when you got it. I really really appreciate any and all responses.

Thanks, Jason

Well, I have the 03 450F and the best recommendation I can give you is read your manual.

Break in:  Couple of short rides no full throttle.  Allow cool down between rides.  Then open it up.  Change the oil and filter, check nuts and bolts front to back.
Pay particularly close attention to the rear sprocket bolts.  On the 450's, several rear hubs have been broken due to loose bolts.
If you ride hard pack tracks, you'll like the tires but if you ride loamy or sandy tracks, pick out some new tires.

I will be doing the swingarm and other bearings in the next couple of weeks.  I have 6 hours on my bike.  Just had the valves adjusted.   If the weight savings made on the 450 are simular on the 250 you will like the feel of the bike.  Have fun and let us know how you like it.

I got the 03 250f with only 2 hrs on it.The manual says ride 1 hr at 1/4 to1/2 throttle to break in so I did. Handles great and feels really light compared to my 02 crf450. No comment on suspension as it isnt even broke in yet.Has better power than a 125 everywhere but basically its all mid range and top end. Gotta ride it like a 125 but really fun to ride.Of course the power is much less than my 450 or any 250 two smoke, thats why I bought it. Our only track is really tight and jumpy so I wanted a bike where I can get on it as its way more fun than giving the 450 1/3 throttle.I would buy it again.

Please people I would like more than one person's views. I know Nikki has one even races it so i know there are more opinions out there.

Well I rode it in hard pack mud slippery stuff with the stockers on.
(Just got it last nite.) And it hooks up more than what i expected compared to my kids yz with his M-12 fr.and D752 rear.
I took corners really well without washing out. The rear end tracked very well to where I could jump it in the mud with limited if at all wheel spin.
Really smooth power on,and very predictable, (for me anyway) compared to that 2 stroke that I use to ride.Although I still need some riding time on a 4 stroke ,but, the first impression,, bike is --->>>
