Freak frame break on 01' 250F

I was jumping a small table, landed and immediatley washed out since a turn was right after the landing. The steering seemed stiff, so I looked at the head tube and it was separated about 1/2 an inch at the bottom, but still attatched at the top. I can trace it back to a particularly bad case around a year ago when I cased it into the face of another jump. I am sure it started a hairline fracture and went from there. It actually tore lower brace that attatches the tube to the frame!
I also messed up my knee, to add to the day, and I have to see the ortho next week
.
Just a heads to 250F owners if you have really had an extreme case to keep an eye on the head tube area just in case. I don't fault the bike at all tho, I think it has held up extremely well considering that I seem to be somewhat hard on bikes.

Can you shoot a digital picture of the break? I've got a 250F torn down right now and am looking suspiciously at the welds in this area as well. There's a strange deformation in the downtube which lead me to look at this area.
I'm going to check the welds with Magnaflux as soon as I finish some suspension work.

Yes, I can, and will before the day is out. The same damage is on the other side. I think the weld failed at the bottom of the headtube / brace area and just tore the metal further up ( because the weld on the side of the steering stem is much stronger.

326mx, just sent you a pic. Sorry for the quality , it is just a cheapo digital camera, but it is much better than a description.
