Honda XR80: any bad years ?

I'm convinced the XR80 is the next bike for my 8 year son who currently rides a Z50 and is doing very well on it. I believe the XR80 has had little changes from the mid or late 80's to present.
If this is the case, is there any particular year to look for or avoid ?
Unfutunatly new is not in the cards right now.

I wouldn't think there would be much difference. The little Hondas havent changed much over the years. Some of them are not taken very good care of but those are usually pretty easy to spot.
