I've been there once years ago and want to scope it out now that I live closer. Got a friend from Bakersfield who's been there more often and is going to meet me at 8am @ the campground this Sunday moring. Any others?
Directions from SoCa (San Fernando Valley): North on I-5, 99 north at Grapevine base, then Hwy 166 west (yes - speeds of up to 100 MPH + are feasible on the flats of 166, but watch out for rigs hauling citrus!) At Hwy 33 junction, turn left. Entrance is 3.6 mi. on left. Go ~3 miles to campground. Look for a white Toyota T-100 Xtra Cab, yellow bike and Ford F250 diesel SuperCab longbed, CR250.

From memory: tight, high-dez like with some trees, manzanita/short bushes; lots of turns, switchbacks, some washes - mostly slower speed stuff. 4k' elevation.
