Send your cylinder to Eric Gorr to have porting and head mods done to it for the results that you want.

Are you serious - how is a pipe gaurd going to do anything significant for modifying how an engine responds?

A pipe - sure.  A pipe gaurd - doubtful.

Don't forget the Pro Circuit pipe and high tension reed valve.

definitely the Pro Circuit Platinum pipe and possibly one size leaner (smaller number) main jet. Of course only after your air box intake was enlarged with the snorkel taken off. The high tension reeds mentioned are made by Carbon Tech. I have their low tension reeds since I needed more low end since I ride mostly on the street. But you can get more out of the stock reeds just by removing the reed limiters. Or buy cheaper two stage fiberglass reeds (by Boyesen).
