Good to see Ezra on the podium again too

Posted by: BEEF706---------------------

OK mx547 here we go , when RC falls he gets up and finishes on the podium, when skippy falls he gets up an d finishes sixth, buwahhahahaha. That ought to get the RC haters onto the thread, good season, though, and three of my faves on the podium!

Posted by: nephron---------------------

I'm listening to the archive right now--wonder what happened with Reed. He was clearly pulling the quickest laptimes of the night. I guess that goes to show you how much tenacity RC has--that guy doesn't just want to win, he does everything right. He must have gotten a top 3 start and pulled out. Lusk is just unbelievable--can anyone figure that guy out? He finishes 7th in his heat race, then races a semi, rests a bit, and pulls off a 2nd in the main. That guy is either on, or off. If he tried 100% all the time, we'd have another contender. Unfortunately, that guy doesn't seem capable.

he used to be that way. numerous hard crashes took it out of him.

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

In one of the other threads (is Reed getting faster) I made a rather crazy prediction that Reed would finish 3rd this season... Lusk is my wildcard. Seems to be back, or at least on his way. Maybe those new KX's are as good as everyone says?

I can't help but think that if Reed doesn't get out front early or falls, he's done... I think BEEF hit it right on the head. Great season so far, it's good for the sport.

I don't know about that... out of the 80 bikes (125cc and 250cc) that made it into the night show last night, there were only FOUR KX's!!

And another interesting fact, Jason Thomas (one of Team Honda Subway's new riders) did not make any of the four AX main events last weekend at the Milwaukee National AX on his KX's. Then last night he finished 11th in the 250 SX main on a new bike, CRF 450. Just a little more food for thought.

But then again, Ezra's factory KX (and Bubba's too) are NOTHING like a stock KX...

Great to see Yogi doing well again, though!!

Posted by: ScottYZ250---------------------

I don't mind seeing RC win the title, but I hope it goes down to the wire. It's no fun when he's won it with two races left in the series...

Posted by: marcusgunby---------------------

This years KX is a amazing machine-best bike out the create i have ridden. If someones results are not whats expected i would look at the rider in this case

Posted by: steve125---------------------

Marcus thats true! and also "all" the top factory bikes are equally far from being a stock machine!

Posted by: Rich250F---------------------

I agree with you Marcus, I believe that it is 95% rider and 5% bike. If RC was still on a KX he wuld still be winning. You throw Bubba on a RM125 or any other color bike and I would still mail in the win. Bubba or RC could take my stock KX250, and go into any Arena cross venue and slap down a guranteed victory. In fact I bet they could pull a top ten in Supercross easily.

the reason reed only made it back up to sixth was because his seat came off in the second crash and he couldn't seat bounce any more. he was by far the quickest out there. his best lap was almost a second quicker than rickys.

Portish I will agree and disagree about Reed (never good at making my mind up )  Reed was flying when he reeled in RC and Lusk but he was riding that thin line to catch and pass them.  It was but a few turns later when that speed sent him for his first dirtnap in an unforced error.  RC basically summed it up on the post race interviews when he said Chad was riding really fast but when he went by I didn't panic because I thought if he can keep that up for 20 laps good for him.  He also mentioned several times about how experience plays a factor on a 250 versus just getting on and grabbing a handful so to speak.  That being said I thought both RC and Reed were unbelievably fast, to watch them blitz the the whoops and then slam the berm for the turn was almost surreal,  for my first SX experience I was awestruck.  Lusk looked good but faded the last 6 laps or so and fell of the pace RC was setting.

After watching both Reed and RC and knowing Bubba is on the way soon we are in for some awesome racing the next few years!

Posted by: TheGrinch---------------------

I couldn't believe it when Reed passed RC and then Lusk. I was hoping he would get out in front and stay there, but my hopes were quickly dashed when Reed bit the dirt. I still thought he might have a chance until the second crash. Oh well, I'll just have to wait until this weekend to see if he can get another win.

Anyhow, did any one else have trouble listening to the webcast archive? The quality I got was terrible. It kept breaking up and would then jump ahead and I'd end up missing part of the race! Of course it cut out on me completely on about lap 17.

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Didn't get the webcast at all here.

....so you're saying that Skippy walked away from this deal with a reddened ass?

I wholeheartedly agree--he got his ass whooped real bad.

Ya know, that's the way it goes. When you fall off your bike, you must face the "consequences"--and sometimes, whether Skippy likes it or not, it means going to the truck with a beatened and reddened ass.

Posted by: portish---------------------

ya skippy may have had a bad race and a sore ass but he's the quickest out there and rc knows it. ricky is so nervous now in his post race interviews. especially A3 and SD.

Posted by: Chili---------------------

Being the quickest guy between crashes doesn't add up to a championship

Posted by: whitesands26---------------------

Yeah I really get tired of people putting down RC....Last night in Atlanta, Georgia RC put out the FASTEST lap time and his heat race was 3 seconds faster overall...

We've also witnessed RC Fall twice and come back all the from last place to second. Reed has failed to make the podium twice after falling....Ricky has made every podium...

RC is absolutley awesome...The booing started because he switched to Honda...So what ? Unfortunately you have those that ride Kawasaki's that got their ego hurt and they get all upset because the guy switched...Heck, he got a better deal and not only that his seasons have gotten better on the Honda...

And the Travis Pastrana incident...I watched that race and saw all the replays and RC did nothing wrong...In the first corner Travis passed RC with an aggressive block pass and RC had to hit is brakes pretty hard to avoid falling.....RC did a clean block pass on Travis in the next corner and not only did Travis NOT hit the brakes but he GASSED it and ran right into RC....We all know that Travis is wreckless...I like the guy and he's blazing fast, but he fell because of a lack of good judgment...Then the crowd boos RC for no reason at all...
It's a shame because RC is pretty humble in his interviews and is a really nice guy..

Well, I'm enjoying the whole Chad Reed/ RCcontroversy, as it makes the championship chase more exciting, but I agree that faster lap times don't always win championships--you have to be consistant!

Posted by: atc3434`---------------------

Yeah, I think people just like to hate RC because he's so good. The guy is pretty amazing. I wish Reed had stayed up front, I can't wait to see the 10 lap battle between RC and CR. These guys all respect each other too. Theres all the comments and BS in the 125 class (Bubba, not to mention any names) really suck, it makes the sport look bad. But these 250 guys have a lot of respect for each other, even if they don't like each other. They block pass, and race hard, but lets face it, you probably won't see Chad stuff RC into the finish line scaffolding.

Humble!   I don't think so !

I give him credit for being REALLY fast and I never boo'd him, but that does not mean that I have to like him.
