C Class MX?

How hard is it and what are the rules of C-Class MX? 1 Kid told me that you're not allowed to triple the rythm sections, but I'm not sure.

The definition of any class will vary from district to district. In our area C class can do any jumps they feel comfortable with. I think our area tho has lost the true meaning of C class by allowing many experienced riders stay in it and cherry pick. I guess personally I am more impressed by a rider challenging his skill with the next class if he can handle it then a shelf full of cherries

SAME way here . I hate it. I want to race 250 D class but it seems like their in all the classes or somthing? Ive never raced but look forward to it ...but dont want to get landed on by B riders in the D class !

hopefully next season the variation district to district will narrow to a non-existant status. I will venture to say that a national system will be asked for and voted on at congress this fall, and hopefully implemented in 04. If so then not as many will be baggin sand LOL. or least won't be getting away with it. heck at this rate we need an E, F< G classes

Three years ago I was midpack Vet Nov, now I'm faster but I'm closer to the back of the pack. Guys are bombing BIG jumps (haphazardly) that only the A&B guys were doing (with style) in the mid-90s. It's crazy. Guys are breaking body parts in practice just trying to do some of the stuff that they have no business doing. At this rate, I'll be in the mid-pack of the 250 D class by this fall.

These classes need revamped. I was at a race where they ran 125C with 125 A/B. The A/B riders left first, on the last lap a 125C rider caught and passed half of the A/B riders. Last year was my first year of racing I raced "D" at one track and there were people doing triples, it was the biggest class at the track so the promoter wasn't going to mess with it. I am going to race "C" this year, I will get smoked but I should not be in the "D" class after a year of racing. If only we could get everyone else to move up we would be all set. Sorry to ramble on.

I saw a race at Lake Whitney a few months back. The 250 D "beginner" class had some guy, who rides the "advanced" group practice at my home track ( Mosier Valley), doing heel ckickers over the triple rythm section and finish line. I couldn't believe no one protested or said a word at he took first place. His excuse was that the series spanned about 6-8 months and he wasn't that good when it started, but wanted to finish the series. Oh yeah, he was over 30 yrs old and a preacher. Go figure. Tim

I raced the 250D last year and will again this year. I also race the +30c/d and sometimes the +25c/d. I get smoked in those two classes. Once I can at least stay on the heals of the +25c/d riders (there usually are only 5 of us and I come close to getting lapped) I will move up to C class.

It takes me longer to improve than others but when I do improve I plan on moving up.

Funny note... I finished 2nd in points last year for the D class but never got higher than a 4th place finish (9 on the gate) and a 6th (17 on the gate). The top 3 or so were flying and lapped many of the D riders while I battled with a lot of guys mid pack.

The fast ones didn't stick around for year end (either didn't pay membership - this is non AMA - or didn't race the required amount of races) b/c they want to stay in D class next year.

I want to stay in D class this year but only until I'm good enough to consistently get top 3 or win one or two races. Then I'll move up.

FWIW though, the series I run they are decent about moving people up. The promoter has moved people up after one race b/c he knew they didn't belong. He also breaks the D class series into 2 series so he can move people up at the halfway point that have improved rapidly. He doesn't catch everyone but he does catch more than most organizations.

If that is actually the case then I'm fine with that. If someone improves rapidly they deserve the opportunity to feel what it is like being out front. The problem I have is if he wins night in night out for 2 years or more with little or no competition.

Improvement should not be penalized but not moving forward after the season should be.

I'm with you there. If you start out in the c class you should be allowed to finish there unless you are winning every single race and/or obviously able to be competitive in a higher class. It's unfortunate that people are that dishonest... I don't think it would be fun if you were baggin' every race! I personally look forward to moving up (if I ever get good enough)

I rode with that guy at last years "Iron Man" race at Whitney. Nice guy, I was on my 125 & him on a 250. While we were prepping for the start of the race he told me he wasn't very good and hope he didn't crash in the 1st turn. He was blowin` & goin`as he flew past me.

There should be three classes max. C (true beginner/novice)(you should only be allowed to race this class for a limited amount of time), B(intermediate/hobbyist)(trophies only ride it as long as you like), A (semi-pro/expert)(pays money and is for the serious racers). This whole system has been exploited and turned upside down. I guess I'm old school, I would much rather finish 20th in a packed field of A class riders than be able to brag that I won a C moto.

Uhh... yeah... I'm always leary of those guys, they are ususally the fastest.
