Anyone here use these? I just picked one up recently but havent had a chance to try it yet. Hope I made a good choice. The rubber seems extremely hard so I'm hoping it doesnt wear too fast. I ride mostly on hard pack and rocks.

I ride on the same conditions here in California. My Carlsbad is holding up pretty well on my 250. I have about 6-7 rides on it and the knobbies are rounded off a little bit. It has outlasted those miserable Dunlops I used to run.

I like them. They offer good traction for the price when they are new but taper off rather quickly. A premium motox tire might have better traction when the knobs round a bit. After that though the carslbad don't wear down like the bridgestones I used to use. My personal take is that they might not be as good when brand new or slightly worn but just as good and last longer as you give them time.

I ran one of these in the CA desert for two District Enduro events several non district enduros and a hundred miles or so of play riding. I was very pleased with the tire! The tall knobs hooked up well in the sandy stuff, but didn't give up much on the hard terrain. I thought that the wear was very good. I ended up destroying the tire while racing in the rocks. Seemed to chunk pretty bad, but don't they all. Best of all I was only out $50, instead of $70 or more for name brand rubber.
I happend to get a great deal on an IRC that I'm not as happy with, or I would have bought another Carlsbad! I think I will try another one if I can find a good price on them.
deano...
