wondering why there is two different sized kdx bikes. i live in canada and only see the kdx 220 sold here, is the kdx200 only a u.s.a. model

I think you can get the 200 in Canada. From what I have learned, the 200 has more top end, and the 220 has more low end. Not sure exactly why Kawasaki makes two models, with such close displacement.

KDX 200 allows you to run in the 200 class for races.

They actually make the 220 to give it more low-end grunt. I'm not sure why they don't step it up to a 250 just to be competitive.... They did have a KDX250.

They stopped shipping 200's to Canada when the 220 was released back in 96/97. So only 220's are available in Canada and the newest 200 you could find would be a 96 I believe.

With the U.S. to Canadian exchange rate, the 220cc only works out to about 146cc in Canada....

LMAO!
Yeah, honestly I don't believe in the 220's existence.

Fatty-K is right the last year Canada received KDX200s was in 1996. From 1997 on we received the KDX220.
Why two different sizes? You’d have to ask a marketing guy I couldn't tell you. It doesn't make any sense to me either.
