Help - '90 YZ250 Fork Springs

A friend of mine has a 1990 YZ250. He wants to (has to) change his fork springs but he is being told that no one makes springs for the 1989-1990 YZ250. What is so unusual about this year YZ that springs aren’t available?
His other challenge is that he weighs 280 pounds! So even if he can find a set of springs they have to have a rate of .48kg’s or higher.
What have others who have this bike installed?
I contacted RaceTech but the woman on the phone said “if it isn’t listed there is a reason”. Factory Connection doesn’t list springs for this bike. Progressive list a set of medium duty springs (.34 to .41kg).
Any suggestions?
