Moto-X Stand

I was in need of a new stand... the old one is coming apart at a weld and the rubber top has come off so....

Got the X-Stand by Motorsport Products. Folds flat, easy to carry in the full P/U bed or trailer. This thing is awesome! Heavy duty construction and completely stable. Good quality construction/welds and the thickest, heavy-duty rubber top I've seen. At 17" tall, it's a little taller than my old one, but get's both wheels off the ground with a little room to spare for uneven surfaces in the pits. Fold and unfolds easily and has a large hole in the top for draining (on two strokes anyway) oil. They even send a plastic bowl to put on the lower shelf.

Got the blue anodized one of course. Sweet product! If you are in the need, give this thing a look.

Here's a pic from their site. I'll update this post as time goes by to let ya know how it holds-up. Based on what I see, I doubt I'll ever need to replace it.

You still can't beat the RubberMaid two step stool. Comes in two colors, indestructable, exactly the right hight, light, easy to clean and only $11.00 at your local Walmart.
Doesn't look too trick though.

11.00$? I got mine for 4.99$ at the local job lot store. Wait, you're talking 11.00$ canadian, so we are both in the same ball park.
It does look "trick " though . Not 100$ trick, but trick nonetheless.

4.99 US is about 8.00 Canadian. For $11.00 I got the competition model.

Went to a local bike shop, bought a used stand off them for $5.

I'm curious as to the durability of this model...

lift stand

Does anyone who owns a 'heavy' bike have any experience with this product? My main concern is the mechanism holding up to the weight of the bike.

Ya'll are just superior bargain hunters! This guy pays you homage! How silly of me not to look at wally-world first!

Is it easy to get pinched while un-folding this? I wanted th estand, but was worried about this.

Twin Spar has one andd it is a POS due to the footing. The mechanism works fine even on his 426 but it is not stable unless you are on concrete ad even then it is iffy. Personally I want to know my bike is not going to fall over when I put it on the stand, and i don't want to hunt for an even spot in the pits.

We also have one of the lift stands. It is great in the garage for storing the bike but at many races we have to use a sheet of 1/2" plywood under it to make it stable enough. We used it mainly last season so thekid could come into the pits and put his bike on a stand by himself. He wasn't tall or strong enough to lift the 125 onto a conventional stand but had to line the bike up and bounce with both feet on the lift lever to get the bike up and locked with this one. (he weighed less then a 100#). With a full season of this abuse to the lift lever it has held up with no problems.

dirty~d~,

I wouldn't buy that stand. I owned one that had a smaller top, but the same base. Just as Thump said, it is wobbly and unstable. Even on perfect concrete it's marginal. I didn't feel safe with my little kids around the bike when it was on that stand. Out in a field with slightly uneven ground, I had to use a flat board underneath it just so the bike would stay up. Even then it was very tippy.

I returned it, and checked "POS" under the "Reason Why" category. Here is what I bought instead. Extremely solid and stable. Narrow pad space front-to-back, but nice and wide side-to-side allows easy access to the underside, and easy to position so that just the front end is off the ground, rear-only, or both. The lift feature is great too.

It doesn't have any manufacturer / brand markings on it, just the name of the shop I bought it "Tech-Care", as in Tech-Care Suspension. Contact them for make/model if you are interested further. www.tech-care.com

The only downside is that it is not a very compact stand. It does take up a bit of floor space in the trailer compared to a folding unit.

BTW, that anodozided X-Stand sure looks trick!

Top view. The lifting and arm locking mechanism works flawlessly. My bike has been up on the stand since November. Will be lowering that bad boy soon though...
