Does any one out there have any experience or opinions about the Maxxis tire line. A friend told me they were pretty rugged and lasted quite awhile longer than most. Most of my riding is in southeast,so its a big mix of everything.Would really like to hear other opinions before i buy a set.

i ran maxxis on my cr250....they hooked up great and lasted just as long as dunlop 756's....i'm gonna try kenda's Carlsbad tire next....heard good things about them too....i used the I.T. maxxis w/ no complaints.

I've used the IT and it works great. Good straight line traction, corners well and breaks away predictably. Wears well in rocks and hard pack. It is what I use.

Anybody use them in sand, rocks, and hardpack with loose stuff on top? I would like to get some new tires. I currently run a 739 up front (suck in the loose stuff, but does well in the summer) and a 756 in the rear (hooks up in most conditions)

I've been running the IT for a while now. Seems to hook up a little better than a 756, and last quite a bit longer for me. Excellent tire, IMO.

Red and I both run Maxxis IT's too (125, 250F & 450F). We love em! They are great for all terrain, hook up really well, have tons of big tall knobs, and last a heck of a long time. Plus you can find them for a great price at www.rockymountainmc.com or Chaparral or other places.

I've been running IT's front and rear since the first of November. They hook better than any tire I've ran (752, 756, 755, 490, MS2, S-12) and are lasting longer too. The S-12 hooked good in straight lines, but when it let go in the corners, it really let go. The IT has a very predictable slide. They are a PAIN to mount though! Super stiff! And like Nikki said, you can't beat the price.

How about mud? I've got a relatively fresh 756 rear, and a mud race this weekend. I have a set of IT's in hand, should I run them?

I think the IT would hook better, but probably not enough to justify mounting just for that race. IMO, the only thing the IT lacks is it's ability to clean. But I still think it cleans just as good as a 756. I've ran two 756's (one on DRZ, other on YZF) and have been disappointed with both, in ALL conditions and especially wear.

Zio-I'm really liking my M12 rear on the kTm. Big, tall, widely-spaced knobs clear nicely and it has worn exceptionally well. The IT sure has held up to the brutal 426, though. For me, right now, my tires of choice are as listed above. M12's for 2t's and Maxxis IT for 4t's.

Coulden't tell you for a dirtbike but sound good. But on my BMX bike I loved um. worked great on the street, hardpack, rocks, sand, and even soft clay. I would say to give them a try. There a great price to
.

I mounted a intermediate maxxis and it was a PIA.Its the big rim saver part that makes it harder to do that a dunlop.Seem good tires but a hassle if you turn them round.
