kdx with kx engine.

my 98 kdx 200 needs a new transmission, but I'm thinking a whole engine would be about the same price after labor is figured into the mix. I'm having trouble finding a kdx in my price range.
What mods would I have to do to get a kx 250 engine to work for my bike, andf would it be worth it???

it should be the other way around kdx engine in the kx frame!!!!!!!!

I hear of a lot of people doing that, but I have a kdx with no engine. If it can be done one way, why not the other?

I'm sure it can, but then you'd have a horrible handling motocross bike disguised as a woods bike.

I'd at least give Jeff Fredette a call first. He has a lot of used KDX parts and who knows, he may have a complete engine or two lying around.

Fredette will put I beleive a KDX engine into a KX frame. It might be the other way around a KDX frame with a KX engine in it. I know he has made a bunch of bikes like that. I think It has to be a 125 engine. I would talk to him for sure before I did anything. I believe that all you have to do is allign the motor up right and build new motor mounts? Don't take my word for anything, talk to Jeff.
