Good Second Bike

I started riding about two years ago on an 86' IT200 which I'm outgrowing. I'm looking to get into a new four stroke but I'm not sure what to go with. I'm 5'11", 200 lbs. and ride trails with a very occasional trip to the dunes. Only dealers in town are KTM and Yamaha and I'd like to support them. They seem to have the best four strokes anyway from what I've read. Which bike would be best for me, a Yamaha WR or a KTM EXC four stroke? Also, what about the difference between the 250s and 450s? My riding definately still has room for improvment but I don't want to buy something that I'll outgrow in the next couple of years. Any suggestions on these bikes or other bikes? Thanks.

i'm all for you getting another bike, but just assure me you'll keep the IT too. those are sweet bikes and kinda rare and i just know you'd regret selling it.

about the yams and KTMs...they're both sweet rides. if your dealer has a left over WR426, i'd go that way. i think the 426's a a bit nicer to ride than the new 450, and they'd be about a grand cheaper. the KTM EXCs are nice too, but chances are your dealer doesn't have one. both bikes are great. they both deliver monster power, even in stock form. the WR will be about $600-$1000 less than the EXC.

another thing you might think about is the 300 EXC. they're lighter, cheaper, and just as fast as the 450.

the difference between a 250 and 450? do you really need someone to explain that to you? the 250s will go very fast, but their little engines have to work much harder to do so. i wouldn't even bother with a 4 stroke 250 in the sand, especially at 200lbs.
