I just did a search looking for the James Now mod and could not find anything. Does anybody have the link to the article that tells you how to do it?

I did the mod to my YZF a couple weeks ago. Much better than spending $100.00 if you can live without the pretty gold anodize job. Noticable improvement in the midrange and starts better too. Costs nothing if you can find a 1/32 inch thick piece of aluminum. Fits nice and tight in the kerf that a hack saw blade makes.

I could not locate the .pdf file I used as a guide but here are some photos taken by some guy who took the idea to extremes:

I cut my plate so there is about a 3mm gap in front of the slide.

I've made a homeade piece for my YZF. Great bottom & midrange power, & it still screams at the top end.
