Reed resorting to take out moves

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: whitesands26---------------------

It's a shame that Reed has to start with the cheating again in an attempt to make ricky fall and finish off the podium to win the championship....That old line "that's racing " is just a bullcrap excuse for dirty riding...Supercross is already dangerous enough without someone trying to take you out.

It seems like the other lame move when Reed put his leg out in front of Stewart in the 125 nationals to try and prevent him from passing him...

He may win a few races but his character is that of a sore loser.

Posted by: motoxpress---------------------

Everybody has their turn at being a sore loser. RC certainly showed that in his interview.

MX

Posted by: Patman---------------------

LOL! I think it's great!!! RC is the king of the aggressive pass, he'll bump people he's passing just because they were close enough. Now that somebody is returning the favor it's a bad thing?

Tell Travis Preston the "That's racing" line, I'm sure he knows all about it

Posted by: marcusgunby---------------------

RC is becoming like MC-they are fine to do stuff but when its done to them they start to complain loudly.RC makes some passes on slower riders that would clean them both up, if the slower rider doesnt totally back down.He thinks he has a right to be right behind CR, at the very start of the race-anyone in front should move over because he is the series points leader. It doesnt work like that im my racing, and shouldnt in the AMA.

Posted by: OldMaiconut---------------------

It IS racing... I remember an interview with Bob Hannah asking him about old rivalries with the likes of Weinert, and Kent Howerton. Hannah was asked if he still kept in contact with them. He answered along the the lines of Hell No! I hated them sons a b**ches then and I still do! A block pass is a fair aggresive move. These guys are professionals. As a paying fan, I expect then to do whatever it takes to win. I agree with Patman about RC... he has put plenty of guys in the dirt before to get where he is.

Posted by: Senior KX Rider---------------------

I think they all need to get back to the basics and do whatever it takes to win. Take out move   They all should be riding like they want the win and if somebody gets taken out.......Thats racin

Posted by: thebird---------------------

Amen Ricky just mad b/c someone has step up to his level. As far as Ricky saying he is a clean rider Lets ask Ron Ron on a certain pass last year in the nationals

Posted by: MX-727---------------------

Did you see the move? There were a couple of different riders that got together at the same point. The inside and outside lines of the whoops came together at that point. It was close enough, that I don't believe that Reed took him out on purpose. The risk of Reed going down was too great. It looked like they barely came together, but Ricky lost his momentum, they were at the top of a steep bowl and RC couldn't get his foot down and fell over. I may be wrong, it happened fast, but it was far from a dirty move in my book.

I also don't think RC did anything dirty to Ferry. RC and Chad were on the move and they both went around Ferry, one to the left and one to the right. Ferry seemed surprised by the rider on his right and moved a bit left into the other rider, almost saved it and then ran into their rear tire.

Ricky went to the podium with a stadium full of understanding and somewhat sympathetic fans. In two sentences, he got booed. I know he was mad, but he really needs to save the tantrum for the trailer. It's a fact of life that he is a spokesman and he doesn't control it well.

He should say "it was a great race, I came up on the short end of some good racing, but I fought back to second and am in good shape to win Honda their second consecutive SX championship, because my Honda is so amazing."  Thank the fans and smile and tell everyone how much fun you had.

Go back to the trailer, throw the helmet, kick the bikestand, have a drink and get some sleep. Hell, go yell at the other riders after the public is gone, but here is the major point:

No one wants to hear their heros whine!

I totally agree with you MX-727.

whitesands26 - As far as Reeds' block pass being a dirty move. Did you see it? Did you listen to the webcast? I listened to the webcast (including the post race interviews), and it sure didn't sound that dirty to me.

Posted by: Rcannon---------------------

Bull****! I was sitting at the corner. Reed did nothing wrong. He had the line. RC tried to take it. It is all physics.

Reed weighs at least 175. RC 135. Sometning has to give....it did!

Must be talking about Salt Lake. The last one I saw was Dallas which was the best race (and cleanest) I have seen in years! RC was boo hooin but was still fairly sporty and said he needed to get faster.

Anybody know if they are going to put Salt Lake on TV again? (wishful thinking)

heh heh . . .

Posted by: MX-727---------------------

RC is Pred's most famous customer for the waaaaaambulance.

Posted by: shifting---------------------

If you remember RC was in the corner first but went high, Reed went low , got in front and they met. Rear tires always win in those meetings of tires. I'm not a big fan of Reed but he did nothing wrong. MX-727 I agree with ya.
I am a fan of RC but I'm not blind. I was there and saw it all.
Whitesands26 this tears for you. :whiner:

Don't forget that Las Vegas will be on ABC on sunday the 4th.

Posted by: muscle---------------------

Man its lookin like I will have my a$$ in front of the tube Sunday!

shifting - well said!

Salt Lake will go down in the history books as:

Reed: :thumb:
RIcky:

Just the way it goes.

The worst thing about it is that we didn't get to see them battle like in Dallas.
I can't wait for the outdoor Nationals to start. RC will probably be more aggresive since he won't be sitting on a big points lead. Plus, there may be some guys coming back who can mix it up a little. With all do respect, when Fonseca is coming in 3rd in a 250 race, the field is pretty thin.
By the way, niether Reed or RC would have made the first cut on Mr. Personality.

Stop, No more hints! Wait until we see the race for any more details or you'll ruin it!

RC is soooo badass in the Outdoor Nationals. Yes cant wait to see who else shows up. hehe Not really sure what to think about Fonzy coming in third.

So true.

Posted by: Rcannon---------------------

Salt lake is a good race. I think you will miss ouit if you dont watch it. Check out the good looking guy in row 17 of section 34. He is basicaly the star of the evening. Look for the black renthal hat.

Posted by: Roostmaker---------------------

Does anyone have the Fox's greatest hits video/DVD? RC has some nice take out moves on tape in his portion...
I seem to remember him edging another rider to the left on a straight away. He pushed him all the way off the track into a wire fence where the rider flipped over the bars. Personally, I can't stand hypocrites....

Posted by: Kirklandrock---------------------

wwaaaaaaaaaaa wwaaaaaaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaaa

REED IS THE MAN

Reed said earlier in the season that he was right where he wanted to be, and that was to pressure RC into a mistake..... I think he intends for RC to beat himself............ Whether that pressure comes from behind or in front it is pressure non the less.......... Way to go Chad..........

Posted by: cyprice---------------------

If you would care to read more whining from RC, check out the Monday Kickstart article on www.transworldmx.com
Honda is probably really riding him. Backing into the champion with 5 staight losses probably isnt what they were looking for.

Posted by: jake949---------------------

Who really cares? This is supercross we are talking about, unless reed can really foul RC up RC is going to be the champ. The men come out to play at the nationals. The supercross is just filler in the year until motocross starts.

IMAO, we should cut supercross back a few races(like 4of the 5 in cali) and add a national or just give the riders a break in the middle to heal up and rest. i am tired of seeing all the riders hurt. Going into the nationals there are way to many riders either hurt or just coming back. how about we start the supercross series after the last national, so that the nationals are the start of the season and CCE gets all the beat up broke up riders.

Posted by: whitesands26---------------------

Whoever said RC was boo hooin in Dallas needs to have their ears checked..He didn't make any excuses and gave Chad his due...

It's funny though, when Stewart slowed up to let chad pass him and then passed chad back to clear up any confusion about who is faster Chad was full of boo hooin and tons of excuses...lol

Fact is...RC will probably win the SX championship and really kick chads butt in the Nationals...RC is an MX specialist.

Posted by: TheGrinch---------------------

We'll see.

believe that was me. My ears work fine. I recorded the entire race including post-race interview. You can literally see the lump in RC's throat. He was bummed. Thats what I call boo hooin. :whiner: Reed rode totally clean and won RC by outriding him and Ricky knew it.

In any event - be it Rc wins or Reed wins, this competition will be a huge uplift for the interest of our sport. I'm glad there is a rider to challenge RC in such a fashion! :thumb:

Posted by: ScottYZ250---------------------

Cry baby Ricky will be finishing no better than 3rd next year with Bubba and Reed both bettering him. Can't wait to hear him cry when that happens.

Don't get me wrong, RC is a killer rider, and always will be towards the front of the pack... but that kid needs to grow up! He's all but won his second championship for Honda, and like MX727 stated earlier all he does is whine :whiner:

Posted by: karterron---------------------

Ricky hasn't exactly learned how to lose. That kid has been winning his whole life. Bubba may have the same problem when he makes the move and has to adjust.

Posted by: Roostmaker---------------------

Kinda reminds me of a friend of mine. Granted he doesn't whine or complain
but he's disappointed in himself if he doesnt win by a huge margin or if
his riding style looks wierd because of armpump. He's hoping to go pro (and I think he might)
so I hope he learns to not be so hard on himself and accept 2nd once in a while.

Posted by: muscle---------------------

Ya know I'm in the same boat as most of us here. I really admire Ricky Charmichael and his ability. He is totally remarkable! But when someone puts up a post that basically says RC is THE BEST and the only way for someone else to challenge him would be by sloppy take-out moves then we will definately be speaking up on that. Which the far majority here is doing.

RC is also human which means he is beatable and will be done so by equally skilled riders who will do it right. The name of this thread is " Reed resorting to take out moves". It's just not so.

just my $.02

Posted by: portish---------------------

i think this w/e ricky will have to take out chad if he wants to win cause rc has been straight up out-ridden in the last few races.
i remember an interview where rc said if he stopped winning he would quit. i wonder how many losses in a row it will take for him to quit.

Posted by: JPIVEY---------------------

Ahhh, they're ALL a bunch of whinnie little track hamsters

Posted by: Mxracer695---------------------

Well I know the outdoors will not be this close and if anyone thinks reed will come close to RC where have you been . But I cant talk to much just have to wait and see whats happeing at the nationals

Posted by: portish---------------------

ya nationals will be a different story alltogether.

Posted by: BENT---------------------

Marcusgumby, you better not say that jeremy was a dirty racer! He never raced dirty adn we all know it.

Posted by: MX-727---------------------

I don't think MC was dirty, but he knew how to block pass. He also did start to whine when RC started beating him. He liked to say the "track was too easy." That was how he explained getting beat. It was actually sad to hear from him.

I like MC, but I cringed when he said that.

Posted by: marcusgunby---------------------

MX-727 expressed exactly what i meant. The track was too easy too rutted etc-horrible to hear the excuses.
