I posted a few pictures from the first day of this ride for those who weren't able to make it......click the link for my pictures below

Posted by: Glitch---------------------

I've been thinking of riding there, and was wondering if my bike was even alowed in. I thought I read a while ago that you needed a spark arrestor? I got a cr125 with a silencer like the fmf shorty, will that not work?

Posted by: rv6junkie---------------------

Hey, it was good riding with you guys Saturday. Nice pics Dan. The conditions were great! I'll get a ride report together and post it in the ride report forum.

Posted by: Dapper---------------------

Boy what a dope I am. Looks like great day. Guys don't let stay home for the next one. I would rather have my wife mad at me than to miss another one. :whiner:

Posted by: Trigger1911---------------------

Thanx for the memories!! What a ride!!!!!

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

Dummy me forgot my Drivers license at Paragon. I left a message for them so they dont run around looking for me.

What a great 2 days of riding and get this, I DIDNT GET HURT!!!!!! Or break my bike. I'll post more later when i get unpacked.

Posted by: Flying Scot---------------------

Had a great time riding. Thanks to PapaKeith, Squeaky Girl and Treejumper for the introductions to the group. Trig, I wish I could have hung around Sunday to see you scratch up that tank. :thumb:

Wife has been talking about how much fun she had riding and how freakin cold she was Saturday night, funny my kids and I were toasty warm and slept like logs. Both kids are raving about their day with the Dirt Riders and can't wait 'til the next time.

Yeah, I know the brown street jacket has to go ! The pictures prove it.

One last thing, IF there is a nomination for a Woos award or equivelant ( Nancy award ) I will take it. I told my bud Phil there was no way I was going to attempt one of the hills until I have more experience riding. I took my son to lunch and 20 minutes later when everyone else came back, I was told that my wife did it on my daughter's XR100 which she rode all day. This doesn't sound to bad until you know the facts - Her previous experience on a dirtbike was riding around on a PW50 and XR70 in the back yard and last week using the clutch for the first time for 5 minutes on the XR100. So after 2 hours of riding she went up a hill I would't do !

Wife and Kids would like to say ' hey ! ' to all the good people and thanks for 2 good nights camping and one great day of riding. :thumb:

Man the arm is looking good. I am just glad when I came around the corner I found you sitting on the log and not the ground with that branch threw your arm.
Hope it feels better.
Bill our submarine captain if you are around let us know how things turn out with the bike. Kevin has your helmet and stuff.
I am bad with names so thanks to every one for a great day on Saturday. Got a chance to see some nice crashes, then put a dent in the frame of the XR myself. Hey you’re not ridding until you crash.
RV6junkie what’s the deal with the '01 XR50 FOR SALE?? Send me an email at jeepxj@optonline.net
Steve from Albany if ya see this keep the email address so we can plan a ride in your neck of the woods.
When’s the next ride?????
Hope to see ya soon
Steven

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

well, we just made it home.
Tree Jumper, don't feel too bad. Squeaky remembered that she forgot her license only when she read your post.
We had an awesome time!
It was great to see old friends, and to meet some new ones.
very tired. . . must sleep now.

Pappakieth,

If she can go without driving for a month, I can pick up her liscense and bring it to Southwick with me

I'm sure they will mail them out to both of you, but if there is a problem, I will pick them up for you and send them.....for a small fee of course

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

hehe,
I've got my license, so you'll have to strike a deal with her. I hope they didn't scour Paragon looking for her. :o
btw
Tree jumper, and scooter. Nice pics. Keep em coming!:thumb:

Posted by: scooter1130---------------------

As long as all the vehicles were gone from the lot, they just figure somebody forgot to check out.......they get a few a month who leave them. They need to put a BIG sign by the exit to remind people to check out and get their liscense.

I only got a few pictures today, but I will post them tomorrow.

Great ride, great company. Thanks to all. Looking forward to future rides! Special Thanks to Eugene!

Posted by: Trigger1911---------------------

Riding at this place gives you a new outlook on life every time.
I could not make it on Saturday and I know I missed a great day. I came up to the campground late on Saturday evening and spent a great night with some beer and my spodes. Some new and some old.

Flyinn' Scot and his wife w/ 2 kids were a blast. I learned some new English from Scotland that does not translate well into American english. He likes to "puff on a ........................(we wont go there!) His wife(sorry, forgot the name) froze her butt off in a tent and she let him know it ,but she had the right, it was cold!

PapaKeith brought along SqueakyGirl, Samantha, and to watch her ride was incredible being it was her first big ride. She took on everything we threw at her and never backed down. To see what she tackled and to watch her confidence and experience grow was a reminder to what this ride was all about, FUN! Thanks for coming.

Daniel Joseph and his crew, I didnt get to spend much time with them but thanks for coming. PAThumperGuy and his bud were a blast at the campsite. Thanks! WoodsRider, DirtyBiker and Eugene stopped by the campsite for a little bull session. Thanx!
Rohnman and Knobbiethrower, always a pleasure! Dave and Lori always make for an interesting day but I think Dave(OffRoadWarrior) was a little off pace today for he did not really torture us! RmGuy got the, OH MAN THATS GOT TO HURT AWARD! He earned it with that bruise. TreeJumper and JasonJ were new guys and I hope you can make it to some more rides. It was a pleasure to camp and ride with you!

I think I should get an award for the stupid attempt I tried at Bunny Hopping a water hole. I will let someone else tell the story and please attach pics!

Last but not least There is Eugene. This guy came from the Czech Republic and is super cool! He gets the Torture Award for leading us on this God Forsaken trail of boulders for the last ride of the day. He gives OffRoadWarrior a run for the money.
All I got to say is " I followed the crazy Czech HA HA, I followed the crazy Czech Hey Hey, I followed the crazy Czech He HE, HA HA, HO HO, Hey Hey I followed the crazy Czech!" Thanks Eugene!

I think I covered everyone except Scooter which I didnt hook up with til I was a 1/4 mile from leaving the parking lot. Next time buddy. Thanks everyone for the memories!

Well i just spent an hour typing a ride report but had too many smilies (what can i say i had fun) and when i went back to delete afew it lost my message. I'll do one later as i have to go unload the bike before it storms. Its getting dark outside but i'm glad the rain held off til today.

PK, tell Squeaky great minds must think alike! O, tape is going in the mail and if anyone else wants a copy, just PM or email me at totlxtc@csonline leaving your name and address. The helmet camera footage cuts out just after the boulder BS at the top of Howe hill. So sorry Dave it doesnt have your trials bike show. Good thing is it doesnt have my faceplant into the dirt either.

Oh they do...

Thanks to everyone...especially those of you that rode with me! I had a blast and can't wait until next time! Maybe I won't fall/stall/be slow the next time!

I definetely became a better rider this weekend, I never would've dared half the stuff I did before...it must've been the beer the night before!!!

Scooter...if I could strike a deal with you to get my license I'd appreciate it...It's tough being a 21 year old w/o an ID.

Thanks again to everyone...It was great to finally meet you guys!

Sorry I missed you at the campground Trigger but Saturday was just about perfect. I brought three other riders with me; Rich, Dwayne (first time out in 20 years!) and Rich’s brother in-law Kevin who was on a 15 year-old Suzuki ATV that had the snot kicked out of it.

In all I think we had about 27 or so launch at 10:30…what a sight! What always amazes me about Paragon is that the trails can be bone dry (they were, I coughed up about a pound of dust) but there are puddles (lakes) that are 3 or more feet deep. Just ask (insert name here!) on the KX 250 who played submarine and had to be pulled out by a Kevin on his trashed quad.

I followed RM-Guy and a group of about 7 down a very steep hill. As we were descending this hill I was thinking to myself “wow, this is rather steep…I’d rather be going down it than up it”. We get down to the bottom and everyone says “al’right…let’s go up”. What a great hill. Turns out that this was the now (in)famous Howe Hill. The funny thing was that we all followed a trail down the hill but when we got to the top there was no trail to be found. So we all made our own individual trail out.

It was a GREAT ride. If you sat it out for any reason, shame on you. You can make it up by presenting yourself as a complete spode at the next ride. I hope it’s SOON.

Posted by: Flying Scot---------------------

Hey the Czech subscribed spotted his name a minute ago. - eugeneorange

Maybe we can get his opinion on the ride this weekend. My post will be moving over shortly. Trig, my darling wife goes by the name Eileen.

Again We all had a blast and will be going back a few more times this year.

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

I don't know if you guys really want me posting my ride report here or not...It's LOOOOONG!!! I am still writing it actually and I'm on my second page in Word...ya' think I had a good time???

Posted by: gixer---------------------

Yeah Eugene likes to hit the rough butt kicking trails. I have been ridding motorcycles for a long time but on the street. I just started in the dirt last season and who do I go with to give me some pointers but Eugene. Famous last words are we will take it easy today. Yeah right what you guys saw was what I saw all day my second time out on my bike. You have to learn fast when following him.
What can I say had a great time out there sat wish I could have gone again on Sunday. We have to do this again soon.
Steven

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

OK Guys...here goes nothing. I hope you have your reading glasses on .

I don’t even know where to begin with this. What a great time I had at Paragon this weekend…I impressed myself along with the other who got to see me ride. I can’t believe I almost didn’t go! The weather was beautiful and the people were great! Papakeith and I arrived in PA Friday afternoon and set up camp. Not too long after we arrived Treejumper arrived and then Flying Scot and his two children. We thought we were the only campers for the night, then we realized that Daniel Joseph and his buddies were on another sight. So, we sat around the fire for a while, bs’ed and turned in early to get ready for our big day!

We started off with a fairly easy ride Saturday morning…there wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle. We had Flying Scot and his kids, who are great riders, with us along with his wife…so we stuck to the fairly easy stuff…plus we didn’t know where I would fit in at first. All morning we rode around, took the easy trails, and we found a nice little sand pit to play around in. Well…there was a nice big, steep hill in this sand pit that everyone was going up and down. They asked me how I felt about it, and I wasn’t really ready for it. But when I ever saw Flying Scot’s wife go up it on her XR 100, I knew I could do it. So…first try, up the hill I went. What a rush! I didn’t go down it…now I kind of wish I did because I went down worse as the weekend wore on! So, I tried it again…I didn’t quite have the speed I needed the second time and as I gave it some gas to get going, I ended up going halfway up the hill on my rear wheel only! THAT WAS GREAT!!!!! Then we took a lunch break…

Saturday afternoon was great thanks to our trail guide, Scooter. We took the more difficult trails in the afternoon since we didn’t have the children with us, and I decided to be brave! There were more rocks at Paragon than I have ever seen in my life!!!! My first fall of the day happened on a pretty rocky uphill, but it wasn’t bad. I got up, got the bike going, and was on my way up again. Well everyone was already ahead of me so I didn’t see the path they took. I could’ve gone left, the really rocky technical trail, or right being the easier trail. I didn’t realize I had a choice and went left. I made it up about halfway and just bailed. It was pretty scary! On the way down I realized where I was and went the right way that time!!! Then I decided to follow Papakeith down a hill. He picked the wrong way to go, and of course I followed, lost control and took a dive. I scraped my arm up pretty good, :whiner: thank god I was wearing long sleeves!!! Well, I got up, realized I was fine, and kept going! Then everyone I was with (Scooter, Papakeith, Tree jumper, LoriKTM, and OffRoadWarrior) asked if I was ready to try some single track, which I haven’t done much of, if any, yet. “Sure, I’ll try anything once” I say. HAHAHA! What a mistake that was! I made it about ten feet in, decided it was way too tight for me, and had Papakeith take my bike out for me. In the meantime, Scooter told Papa about some wider single track that may be for me. Well, it was. I made it about 9/10 of the way through 3 sections of wider single track. Little did I know that Scooter had warned Papa not to take me into the 3rd section, so when Papa asked if I wanted to do this last section I said “Sure, why not?”. Well, there was a tight, technical section that I just could not get through. I tried and tried. My first attempt resulted in my debarking of a tree…that was pretty scary! This is after the first tree that I had severe object fixation on and bashed right into! I was getting tired seeing as this was my first real ride so I had Papa take my bike out of the woods for me. I then made it down all the rough rocky sections I had made it up earlier in the day! After that I decided I was done for the day and Papakeith went off and played with OffRoadWarrior on his trials bike for a while.

Camping on Saturday night was…interesting! Seeing as I’m a newbie, I didn’t get a lot of the inside jokes but laughed anyway. I made a new friend in one of Daniel Joseph’s buddies and ended up talking to him all night...6 beers and a lot of laughs and firewood later we turned in for the night…

Then there was Sunday!

Well, Sunday came along and all my fellow riders decided it was time for Samantha to learn Turtle Hill. Papa had told me about this hill before, but he told me they always went up it. We were going down it. This hill is the longest, rockiest down hill in all of Paragon and I DID IT!!!!! I didn’t make it down in one shot, I fell a couple times, stalled a couple more, but I finally made it down. That was exciting in and of itself! Then we took on the water! I had never gone through more than puddles before, I was pretty nervous about it. The first water crossing was a river…everyone had gone through, except me and RM_Guy…he talked me through it and I made it about halfway through before killing my bike and almost falling over. Luckily Papa was there to catch my bike so I didn’t drown it! He brought my bike the rest of the way through that…The next crossing was a mud puddle…everyone went through again with little to no problems. I took the wrong way and ended up taking a mud bath! I got the bike going again and got myself out of that one! We had a few more crossings that I made it through no problem. But, I have to say the most amusing part of the day was when Trigger did a bunny hop off of a hill right into a pond! I could’ve cried I was laughing so hard…after we all knew he was ok that is. Everyone else went around the pond but he had to go in it. By the time we had crossed our fifth or sixth river/pond/mud puddle everyone was getting pretty worn down, so back up Turtle Hill we went. Papa, Trigger and I let everyone else go ahead since I needed a bit of a break. Then we were on our way up. I only fell/stalled twice the entire way up! What an accomplishment!

After lunch we let Eugene guide through what we though would be a nice, easy trail ride. Everyone was pretty tired so we weren’t up for much. If we only knew what we were in for! The ride started off fairly easy, some down hills and straight aways. I didn’t really have a problem keeping up, but I was still last in line! Then we got into the woods and it started to get real rocky. I had a tough time but made it through most of it. There were a couple of sections that I had to have Papakeith bring my bike through for me after trying and not succeeding. Then we came across a water/mud/rock crossing. I took one look at it and said “No way, I’m not doing that.” Papa said ok, stay here, I’ll be back for your bike. Well by the time he got back for me I was halfway through it. Treejumper told me he was going to record what I did on his helmet cam and of course I wanted to show off to my boyfriend who couldn’t make the trip! It took me a little while and few stalls but I made it through. I couldn’t believe it! The rest of the ride turned out to be fairly easy. My confidence grew and by the end of the day I was being called speedy!

All in all I had a great weekend! Thanks to everyone, especially LoriKTM, Treejumper, OffRoadWarrior, Scooter, Trigger and of course Papakeith! I appreciate all the patience you had and all the confidence you had in me! I can’t wait until the next trip! :thumb:

Nice report Squeaky!! Glad to see you had such a great time and didnt get discouraged!

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

I CAN'T BELEIVE IT....I almost forgot about the air I got!

So, I was following Papakeith, going at what is considered top speed for me ! (AKA...Not very fast...)

Well, he went over a little hill at this speed and I followed right behind him. He says judging from his experience I got about 1/2 inch of air....

ROCK ON! I've never gotten both wheels off the ground before (on purpose!). It was so exciting!

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

Ok, here's my little tale. (An you thought SqueakyGirl's was long)

Packed and loaded the truck up thrusday/friday and headed off for Red Ridge Campground for a weekend of what i hoped to be fun (it did). I arrived to findout that one other camper had arrived. I signed in, got directions to camp, and saw it was PapaKeith and SqueakyGirl. They were setting up the pop-up that PK acquired and i began to unload my bike. With everything set and ready to go there was nothing else to do but kick back and enjoy the afternoon. PK and SG left to get "refreshments" so i kicked back and took alittle nap. I started to get alittle worried as LoriKTM and OffroadWarrior hadnt shown up yet. Needless to say i didnt see the part in Lori's post about leaving at 6am Tomorrow! Anyways i told PK that if it wasnt for me showing up he'd probably think he had the wrong weekend.

As night fall fell Flyin Scot pulled up with 2 extremely excited kids. Found out that this was their first camping trip and we thought we'd make it enjoyable. Seeing it was the right thing to do i proceeded to corrupt Alister's (or is it Alastar or wrong all together, help me?) kids. Can you believe they've never heard of a flaming marshmallow? Well they do now but my plan backfired as i fell victim to it. They learned (along with the rest of the camp) why i say "I hate Rabbits" while sitting around a campfire. 12:15 am arrived and everyone headed off to bed. Meanwhile since i cant sleep if consuming beer (dont ask me why as i dont know) but i wound up being awake til 4:30 am and up at 6:30am with the rest of the camp.

After breakfast we packed up bikes and made sure we were at Paragon by 10am for roll call. We wind up with 25 riders which was enough to make the 25 person min. set to receive the group discount. Scooter offered to pay his way (he gets free passes to park for helping guide people around it, i think thats why) since we kept coming up with 24 people. :thumb: Everyone heads out in groups for the day which everyone will post their events themselves. I went with the campground group and had a blast. SG's story tells most of our ride but i wanted to throw in that Flyin Scot's son had a slight spill doing a superman off the side of his bike with his thigh landing right on a big rock. Like a champ he was back up and ripping around on his bike. While the beginner group was playing in the sandpit OffroadWarrior and LoriKTM played on the steeper hill climbs. I follow Dave up this semi big but steep hill only to findout we had to go back down the hill. I replied with "I dont go down hills, only up them." I proceed to find a easier way back down with no luck. So Lori comes up the hill and i follow her down a less steep hill but curvy one that Dave found for us. After some more climbs we head back for lunch.

After lunch we all head out for the single track which SG mentioned. Scooter took lead and OffroadWarrior, LoriKTM and I went on some very nice single track. This lead to some very interesting ST that gave Lori and I alittle workout. Mostly mine was on how to start a bike. I dont know why those silly Canadian's said you cant take MX bikes to Paragon. Needless to say i hadnt even seen the worst ST yet! I proceed to hook up the Helmet camera only to findout i left the battery pack for it in the truck, i forgot alot of things that weekend. We head back in the afternoon so OffroadWarrior could take out his Trials bike. I hangout with SqueakyGirl while PK goes for a spin.

Saturday's campfire was a blast with lots of stories, tales, and good laughs! Besides the riding this is one of the best parts of our little DRN get togethers. Nothing beats kicking back with a bunch of guys you "think" you know for the forum only to findout they are 100% better in person.

Sunday we head out for more riding. We got to see afew minor falls, lots of new challenges met and a nice belly flop into a small stream pool by none other than Trigger! I wish i had a bigger battery for the camcorder as that would of been a killer to have on tape. After lunch we were in for a real treat with Eugene leading the way. All this time OffroadWarrior kept it easy for us knowing the group of riders we had and Eugene had to do this to us! Just kidding, i enjoyed every bit of it including the bike size boulders. This challenged afew of us in the group and i really learned what the Canadian's meant by Paragon is not for MX bikes. Well atleast not a YZ450F! I did alright but it just wasnt geared or designed for that type of riding. Its like taking a speed boat on a creek. We all survived and we all made it to the top of Howe Hill, well most of us. Keep blaming SqueakyGirl Trigger. I made it past the carnage and tape to prove it. Also on this tape is none other than RM_guy explaining to PapaKeith that he never made it to the top of the hill going the hard way after telling everyone he just came up that way and made it. Needless to say he forgot i had a camera strapped to my head. You gotta love it! I wound up having bike troubles from there only to findout i forgot to turn back on the gas after the small break on Howe Hill. Duh!!

After that we have the boulder trail and afew other small trails before heading back to the trail head. On the way back i pull a nice face plant on a rocky downhill trail. It was so quick that i didnt even get my hands out in front to stop myself. Too bad the helmet camera was out of juice our you'd get a 1st person view of it. From there OffroadWarrior stops off to play on the Jeeps obstical course. He did pretty good but Trigger wouldnt let him have the glory. Funny thing is Trig just couldnt cut the mustard and wound up giving us a nice crash again. I'm glad i had too much money tied up into camera equipement otherwise i'd be laying beside him on the ground. Papakeith said "Screw that" and fired the big 500 straight for the course making it to the top in record time! The only problem is what goes up must come down. Only Pk took that the wrong way and did a nice header into the ground. No harm, no foul!

That pretty much wraps things up for the day. We all say our good byes and wished we all lived closer so we could do this more often. I packed the truck and headed off leaving my Driver's license at the park's office. I only remembered when i pulled my wallet out of my pocket when i got home. Being it was 6:45 when i got home i called Paragon to make sure they werent out looking for me. I received the answering machine so i figured they went home too. I politely asked if they could mail it to me. Well that's it til next time! I hadnt planned on going to Montrose in June but after this weekend i just might even if its just to visit. If i get my promotion this week then i'll be there for sure as i'll have weekends off.

Hey it was great meeting most of you and riding with you. I was of corse running late and got into Paragon parking lot Sat morning around 11:00 or so just in time to hook the back of the ride with Scott, Squeek, and the kids. I spent some time riding with them in the sand pit and then hooked with some other riders that came through looking for the single track and rode a while with them before hooking up with PaThumper guy (I think) and his bud riding Zuk Thumpers with street tags, we had a decent rip and those guys riding speed was a good match for me and we covered some ground before I peeled off for lunch around 2:30. I met up with some buds in the camp ground at lunch and hung with them for a while and by then it was a bit late and I hooked up with some locals for a nice dusk non paragon ride that was awesome.
I did make 10:00 AM Sun morning despite being abducted and being forced to hang out, drink beer, and go for an 11 PM off rode station wagon ride to the Uni mart for Ice tea, milk, and TastyKake pies,,, Don't ask as I still dont understand it myself .
Sunday morning I finally got a chance to meet and talk with the DRN crowd. You guys are very cool and a great group as I knew you would be. Sunday riding was fun and it was great watching Sam learn to ride trial by fire style, she accepted every challenge with a real go get em attitude and hung in there. She was way to clean on Saturday but after the mud bath on Sunday she looked more the part . It was great fun riding with Dave and Lori, I would ride with them again any time, very good riders! Tirgger man was a riot aiming that M1 A1 Abrams XT tank at anything that looked wet or nasty. I was nervous at one point we were in the vally and lots of deep mud and the Trigger man was on my 6, lucky for me either he was mercyfull or the XT lacked the agility or brake power to out menuver my trusty WR as I was sure to block the inside line and accelearate sharply by the puddels . The XT did a gret impression of a boomer class sub (pictures to be posted when I dl the camera) and Trigger even showed us it could be used as a chipper shreder and log splitter, I swear he was hung up on dead trees for like 3 minutes and just kept pulling lumber out from under the bike.
Ill defanatly take a copy of the vidio, did you get the part where you tried to sneek up on me and swamp me and ate some yourself ?
Had a great time BS'n with Scooter in the pits and hopfully we can hook up for some lively trial riding any given Sunday.

Is it the 3rd again yet?

Posted by: rv6junkie---------------------

Well Trigger always warns the people he rides with to be careful if there is water on the trail. Now we know why...he's a duck!

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Great report TJ! You definetely put in all the details that I forgot...and made it that much more amusing!!!!!

Jason...I'm glad you like my style! HAHA!!!!!! I decided if I wanted to play with the big boys I had to ride like one...It didn't quite work out that way, but I sure as hell tried!!!

I can't wait till next year...or...maybe we can do another one this year?? YEAHYEAHYEAH!!!!!!

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

LOL, yeah, Ill tell you, riding with better riders is a great way to learn and get better yourself, when you see them going faster than you normaly go and study where and how they are faster you just start doing what they do and getting better yourself. Learning to dirt ride is kinda hard because the slower you go the harder it is and paragon has a way of punishing you for going slow like no other place .

Special Thanks to:
DRN Dudes and Dudetts, you RULE!
Paragon for just being there and continuteing to strive to be most excellent.
THE WEATHER!!!! For producing two of the finest riding condition days I can recall despite the forcast of a$$, need I say shame on the weather Nancy's or did the weather say it for me? .
My wrist for heeling enough in less than a week from being all but unusable on Monday to be able to ride with only a bit of discomfort (after Advill) to make me spend most of the time in the seat.
Last and certainly not least, Blue Thunder! My trusty steed who's awesome suspension and trail agility allowed me to stay in the seat most of the day with out a single bail out!!!! The big WR ran superbly, started almost every time on the first kick and was rock solid all weekend long accept for a slow leak in the front tire . I,,,,, I love you Blue! Sniff, sniff.

Posted by: High Lord Gomer---------------------

Oops, when copying posts from the other thread it also copied the poll and I can't get rid of it.

I'm glad (and jealous) you guys had so much fun...keep 'em coming!

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

I certainly hope we're going to get more ride reports....there were too many people there this weekend to have only a few reports!!!!!

Posted by: Trigger1911---------------------

Hey Junkie, I may be a duck, but I was a good looking duck at that! What a blast!!!!!!!!

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Hey Trig...you're not alone! If it wasn't for Papa I would've been a sitting duck....almost drowning your bike is BAD!

Posted by: DaveRS575---------------------

Dan.. Sorry I didn't get out there on Sunday to meet ya. We ended up heading out around 7:30am Sunday morning. I didn't have time Saturday to bring my bike, but had an awesome wheeling experience. Looks like me and another buddy of mine will be coming up there for Neuroc (16th) and then stopping in Green on Sunday for our ride if you want to join us or follow us back from Paragon.

Sounds like I missed a great day out. I ran into someone on an Orange KTM getting ready to go up the steep hill over by the events on Saturday. He definatly knew you (If you are out there...I forget your name... sorry?)

That looked like some mean hillclimb... I would have probably wimped out on that one.. I dunno...You guys ran a nice clean line right up the center of it! I saw three thumpers and I believe a KX climb it! Nice job! I didn't see anyone come down it. (There are a couple of photos of the hill I speak of in my signature webshots page)

I'll definately be coming up there this season! Hey at least we talked on the phone.. haha

Man, you guys have way too much time on your hands. I made it back in pretty much one piece. My arm is actually darker than the last picture that Jumper took. It's sore but isn't too bad. I'm more worried about my hand. It's swelled up pretty good and stiff but I can still move it. I may go to the doctors if it isn't better in a few days. Jumper, thanks for taking pictures. I was getting tired of showing it to everyone.

A few observations:

- Hitting a pungee stick in the arm while tapped out in 4th is not a fun trip. That freaking thing lifted me right off the bike before it finally broke and I broke my fall with the fingers on my left hand. Ouch.

- SqueakyGirl was most amazing. For only riding 2 months she was pretty good. She took on anything we threw at her and asked for more.

- Trigger's name has to be changed to Water. 'nuf said. And thanks for room in the camper Saturday night.

- The crazy Chec wins the award for taking everyone on the nastiest trail. Eugene is a great guy and when we got to the end of the nasty stuff he parked his bike and went into the carnage to help out.

- SilverBullet wins the submarine award for trying to ride through waist deep water. We got it going after a while but he was concerned with water in the transmission so he stopped. And I have to give some thanks to the guy on the quad that towed him all the way back to the trucks. Nice guy.

- PAThumper's friend Eric was a hoot Saturday night at the campfire. I couldn't stop laughing. And where he heard that you can buy inflatable sheep in the internet, I'll never understand!

- PapaKeith got roosted by a girl, hehehe

- I learned that if you burn your kitchen pass by staying out all night on a Saturday at the campground, you can't ride all day Sunday. Right Woods?

I'm out of time here but I'll try to post more later.

Everyone was great and I had a great time meeting everyone and seeing old friends. I can't wait to do it all over.

Thanks for the “warm” welcome to DRN community guys :-)

I had a great time and I’m pretty sure (despite some comments) that fun was had by all.
Originally I came to ride on Sat. only. But with the promise of nice weather and good riding company, I decided to stay for Sunday too.
Saturday a.m. I rode with Steve (XR400), Kevin (KX125), Bill (KDX200?), Steve and Bill (GasGas guys from Albany) , Dave-RMguy,......I think that’s it. (Sorry, don’t know all your DRN handles)
Everything went great until we came upon this “puddle” big and deep enough for synchronized swimming lesson. I took a nice little dip as I was exploring it (right down the middle - how else), when the bottom sort of disappeared and most of my bike with it. The water may have looked like coffee, but believe me it didn’t taste like it at all. Luckily, I made it out, but Bill’s KDX decided to go from aboveground to underwater stealth mode. After failing to resuscitate the lifeless Kawy, we were lucky to run into some quad riders (thanks guys!) willing to help and tow the bike all the way back to the parking lot. Then, before the end of the day, few of us went back out and tackled some really cool trails. I don’t remember the trail numbers or names, but you know which ones right?, the cool ones. (I hear you laughing Scooter)
The campfire/beer session was great, I wasn’t sure if my stomach hurt from riding or laughing.
I hit the sack around midnight. Thanks Steve(GasGas) for letting me share a hotel room (separate beds I assure you).
Sunday started awesome and as you all know, it remained that way for the rest of the day. A.M. ride started with Steve & Bill(GasGas), we were joined by KnobbieThrower and Ron. We found some wonderful sigletracks that just kept on winding in front of us.
After the lunch break...well...we all rode some more, right? Somehow, I don’t think that anyone actually regretted riding that...uhm...stuff. Let’s have a round of applause for the girls. They deserve it!
After most of the guys headed back, me and Steve (GasGas) decided to dare the Rock Gods and stared them right in their faces. It got ... i n t e r e s t i n g. Where was my HelmetCam! So, one broken shroud and one bent footpeg later we emerged victoriously from this “trail” that I have to remember for the next time we all ride :-)
It was great meeting you all, I definitely plan to keep in touch and can’t wait for another fun-filled weekend.

Everyone I was with had a great time (In between me breaking bikes) It was amazing with the amount of riders and Jeeps there, we actually ran into very few. Guess that's testament to the size of the property. Thanks to Scooter for telling us were to find the single track . The area around there is beautiful and we got to see my first bear on Friday night. I do think Woodsrider deserves some type of award for wearing those Lavender riding shorts out in public (He says they were blue, Yeah right) guess that color must go good with his skirt.

We'll be back again. But I think I better bring a couple of more bikes.

Hello to all who were there on Saturday. I had the dubious honor of being the submarine captain half way through the day. Sure looked a lot shallower than it was! Anyway, my thanks Steve and Kevin for helping me drag my bike out of the "lake". My sincere thanks to all those who helped with the trailside surgery to get my bike running again - especially to Gas Gas Bill who stayed for the duration offering his pearls of wisdom. Actually I learned a lot from him. A special thanks also to Kevin on the quad for towing me out. I definately owe you one! The whole thing had me so out of whack that I left my helmet, goggles, gloves, and chest protector behind on Steve's trailer. Shows you where my head was!!! Of course I topped it all off by forgetting my license and having to turn around and go back for it. Oh well, it's like they say......the worst day of riding is better than the best day of working. All in all I had a great time and Paragon is awesome (with the exception of trail 80!!!!). Hope to see you all at the next one assuming I get my bike back together sometime soon.

Hey Bill
Kevin has your gear.......or wait.......whats that I see on ebay?????
Just kidding he must have called ya already. Lets do it again soon

Hey everyone, nice reports. Scooter Dan, nice pics especially the three of Dave K. (OffRoadWarrior), Flubie (dirtybkr) and myself coming out of that "ignorant tight Jersey" woods section. I liked it so much I had to drag everyone through it on Sunday. Needless to say I didn't win any friends.

Well since Dan Joseph and Dave H. (RM_guy) are already bustin my chops I'll spill the beans. My consumption of cold, refreshing adult beverages on Saturday night exceeded my usual two-beer limit. I stumbled into our hotel room around 12:30, tripped over the crib and woke up Jr. Woods, Mrs. Woods' dog (who we snuck into the room) and of course Mrs. Woods who was not impressed. I probably got a total of three-hours sleep, got a firm lecture and had to promise to be home before 6:00 p.m. Flubie and Eugene (eugeneorange) picked me up at 7:30, which was still way too early. All day Sunday it felt like I was dragging and anchor. Flubie, Eugene, Steve M. (knobbiethrower) and Ron (rohnman) got in 25 miles of mostly singletrack in three hours before I had to load up and head for home. I did manage to pick up my license though.

Saturday turned out to be a pretty good day all things considered. I'm glad RV6junkie had fun when I led everyone down and then back up Howe Hill. It was actually a lot worse last year although that didn't stop a couple guys from having trouble with it on Sunday. Dave, I hope your shoulder and hand are feeling better, that was one heck of a get-off. Bill (Silver Bullet) to be on the safe side I'd tear your engine completely down. Get in touch with Dan Joseph, he works part-time at a Kawi dealer in CT. Flubie and I split off from the group, ran into Papakeith and Squeak and then discovered some great singletrack that eventually took us off the property. We did make our way back and came across Scooter Dan, Dave K., Lori (LoriKTM) and Chucke (Tree Jumper). Scooter Dan led us on a tour of more singletrack where Dave K. and I decided to wick it up a notch. People consider Dave K. a sadist and a number of people have told me Eugene is a sadist. I rode with both these guys and had a great time, but they're definitely not sadists.

Again it was great to meet everyone and I'm sorry I couldn't hang around longer. The way Dan Joseph was checking out my butt on Saturday I was getting nervous. At least I know I'll never let him ride my bike. Seriuosly though I'm glad that almost everyone had a good time. I know that 50+ miles of singletrack will keep me happy for another week.

Who could ask for a better weekend. It was great to see everyone, and meet some new people also. saturday started with a ride with the kids, and new riders finding some easy areas for them to start with. We started with the "Bunny trail", which is an easy trail with different obstacles. It is a great trail fro beginners, but with a little speed can also be a fun trail for the experienced rider. The group then headed towards a hillclimb, which dropped off on the other side, and you had to make a quick turn at the top. Right before this hill is where Flyinscots son fell on the rock. After a minute or 2, he was back up and riding like nothing happened. It was decided that this was not a good hill for the beginning rider, so I showed the group where the old 101 course was. The area is open and a great place to play around with a few small jumps, hill climbsand some wide trails through the woods. This is where Flyinscots wife, and Squeakygirl did their hill climb. This is also the area about half of my pictures were taken on Saturday. Then it was time to head back for lunch.

After lunch it was back out for a trail ride with Papakeith, Squeakygirl, Tree jumper, LoriKTM, and OffRoadWarrior. Our first stop was valley road. Squeaky was doing really good up the hill, until she didn't see the trail to the right and took the harder trail up the middle(at least she didn't take the trail on the left). She made it about half way, before crashing on the rocks. It is a rough section to get started on since you arte on a hill covered with rocks, so pappakieth, rode her bike to the next flat section. While he was doing this, I was going to attempt to ride his bike up the hill for him. But after riding a Cannondale thumper that will crawl over the rocks, trying to get the CR500 over the rocks was not for me. I made it about 3 feet before stalling it. The next rocky hill we came to was the pipeline bypass, which everyone made without problems. We continued a little further, and then headed for some single track. The start of this single track was a technical section, and Squeaky was not very thrilled with the tight woods. I was really impressed with her riding, and she had already done a lot of riding for her first big ride, so Her and Pappakieth decided to sit out the single track, and find some other areas to explore. I told him where there was some easier single track if she wanted to try it, but I also told him that the third section of the trail gets more difficult, so they may want to leave the single track after the first 2 sections. I guess next time I should tell Squeaky, since apparently, he never did.

from here, Offroadwarrior, Loriktm, and treejumper and I continued on with the single track. When we came to the first fork in the trail, I left it up to them which trail to take, and they unknowingly chose the more difficult of the 2 trails, which made for a great ride. I don't remember where, but somewhere along the trail, we picked up another 2 riders to finish the single track with us( I don't remember who they were....now I remember, since woodsy reminded me....all i had to do is look at my own pictures, and I would know who was with us.) when we got to a tight section where the trail was about half as wide as the handlebars, I decided to bypass the section and wait for the group further down the trail. I was joined by Treejumper, and Lori. The next obstacle was a small rock garden,(imagine that....rocks at Paragon) which I believe everyone made it through with no problems. And then al ong offcamber downhill, again no problems. After the hill, we decided it was time to head back, so we finished the single track, and headed up Turtle trail, and back to the parking lot to exchange stories of the days rides.

Sunday I didn't get much chance to ride with anyone....as the group was leaving about 10:30, some friends pulled in, so I was talking to them, and told Trigger, I would catch up with the group in a little while. I went out searching, following tracks that led me to Turtle trail. I thought I must have followed the wrong tracks, since I didn't think Squeaky would want to try turtle....but I was glad to hear she did. I made the loop around, and back over valley road, but didn't find them....I never thought to check near "Howie hill". When I got back to the lot, I was asked if I had time to show Alex, and his dad Harry9both on KTMs around the park since it was their first time there. WE went over Turtle, and to Howie hill, but we went straight up the original trail in the center, and not the new trail whic`h it sounds like some others took during the weekend, and said how easy it was:confused: and the real trail, does go all the way through to the logging road on top of the hill. Then we finished the tour with some single track.

I also suggest, if you ever hear someone say this......

  DON"T FOLLOW THEM!!!!!

Dave,(not you RMguy) sorry I missed you Sunday. i figured maybe you left early, but give me a call and we will get together for a ride sometime soon. Sorry if it sounded like I was cutting the phone call short the other day, but I was still working at the time, which usually isn't a problem, but this customer was giving me dirty looks since I was talking on the phone about motorcycles, while I was fixxing his refigerator......some people just don't understand, its an addiction.

What can I add that hasn't already been said? An absolutely perfect weekend, filled with beautiful weather, great riding, and good friends. It was way too short, but that will make the next one that much better.

Saturday we got on the road by 6:15am. I knew it was going to be a good weekend, as we managed to make all the green lights through town on our way out. We arrived about 9:30, got unloaded and signed in. We were a little slow getting geared up, and a couple groups had taken off riding already. PapaKeith mentioned that a group of beginners were going out, I decided to tag along. After all, it was my first ride of the season, and I had all weekend to beat myself up. We cruised around some easier trails and did a few little hill climbs in the morning. TreeJumper and I tried to find an easier line back down a hill that my husband led us up, but in the end we crawled our way back down a loose rock hill. All the while, Scooter is out and about with the camera of his, taking pictures of everyone. Thanks Dan! The photos look great! After some lunch we headed back out for some single track. We made our way to the trail area without incident, but shortly after we started on the track Squeakygirl decided this wasn't her cup of tea yet. So she and Papa headed back for some easier terrain. Scooter took the rest of us on a great tour of some classic Paragon single track. Sorry, I can't mention where it is, because it's off property limits and if I told ya I'd have to shoot ya. The singletrack dumped out on a powerline area with a spectacular view of the valley. Worth the few hairy rock gardens to get to it! We made our way back, and met up with dirtybikr and Woodsrider, and rode some more singletrack until I ran out of water and requested a trip back to camp. It was getting late in the afternoon anyway, and I didn't hear too many complaints about heading back.

Sunday started out with a trip down the now-famous Turtle Hill. This hill is nearly a mile long descent, filled with rocks (some loose, most embedded) and has several twists and turns to make things interesting. Thanks to a bit of pre-season trials practice, I was standing up for most of my ride down the hill. Everyone made it down without incident, and we headed off to do several water crossings. The spring rains had made the crossings deeper, and more interesting than usual this ride! Trigger, on his XT350, made a point of always taking the "deep" line through the water. This would bite him later, but that XT is a tractor and would take on anything. Unfortunately, his bunny hop into a water hole proved to be a little too much when he hit a submerged rock and slid forward into the metal gas tank! I think that sobered him up for, oh, about two minutes. Then he wanted to go back and try it again! We rode through a few more fun trails and mud puddles. OffRoadWarrior suggested a "shortcut", which proved to be quite challenging, as it was a boulder-strewn garden, with sections of water and mud. It dumped out on another pipeline, and we picked up speed again. Back for some lunch, and then one final ride in the afternoon. This time, RM_Guy and Eugene (the crazy Czech) were in the lead. Started out innocently enough, taking some fun, fast trails back to Howe Hill. A launch up the hill, where we stopped to get everyone together. Of course, the trail from this point was non-existent, so we were all picking and fighting our way through the last 50 yards which was covered with lots of large loose rocks. Some more fun single track up there, and then Eugene took over....

....and led us through hell. Ok, it was really only heck. Muddy, rock-strewn gardens were the norm on these trails, culminating in a rocky, twisty little stream crossing leading to a short but steep right-hand uphill. A little too much throttle spun my bike to the ground, but it was enough to get over the hill. Eugene and friends were there to help with the bike, and the others yet to make it across. "This is the last of it" he says. (yeah, I've heard THAT before!) But, true to his word we were back on a logging road and to the pipeline after that. A stop at Trail #19, where OffRoadWarrior played on the giant rocks with the trials bike. Trigger decided his XT could do that too, and went out and proved that it couldn't. Papakeith, not to be outdone, took his CR500 through the same boulders, all the way to the top! (Way to go!) Unfortunately, the way back down wasn't so smooth, and he dropped the bike near the bottom. We headed back to the parking area, as it was starting to get late and most wanted to get a head start back home.

A few fond farewell's, and we got into the truck and began our drive home. We were too tired to unload at 8:30 that night, so the trailer still sits in the driveway. It was great meeting some new people, and seeing familiar faces again. The DRN family is the greatest group of people I know! :thumb:

What a great weekend!

Squeakygirl and I started off on Friday morning around 6:30 am. We loaded up everything (or so we thought) and headed off to Allentown PA to meet up with jmics19067, and Trigger1911. Jmics had offered me a mig welder if I would come and get it, and the meeting point just happened to be Triggers hometown.
After a couple of hours on the road we found ourselves right on schedule, and gave trigger a call. He met us at a Home depot parking lot, and directed us to the tollbooth that had jmics waiting for us.
We made introductions, and transferred the welder. I still can’t get over the fact that he just gave me the welder. He didn’t even want me to give him gas money. Since it was noon, we decided to go have a bite to eat.

<<lunch break>>

From Allentown, we traveled up 309?? To Hazelton, and the campground. On the way the skies started to darken, and eventually we found ourselves in a pretty decent downpour. This had me kind of worried. The camper we just bought needed a new canvas, and I knew that there were some holes in the sides. As luck would have it, I didn’t need to worry. The skies cleared up in about 20 minutes, and not another drop of rain fell all weekend.

We were the first to arrive at the campground. We picked our spot, and set up the camper. In the process Squeaky tore another hole in the canvas. . . we really need to get that thing replaced!!.
As we were setting up camp, in rolled treejumper. I didn’t want to say anything, but this was the third time that he and I had been together for a ride. The first time was for DW01. We never got to ride together because his chain punched a hole in the case of his engine. The second time was DW02. He arrived, and spent the better part of two days trying to get his carb working. He ended up purchasing a new 450, but again, I didn’t get to ride with him. I was hoping that the third time would be the charm, and we would be able to actually get a ride in together.

Flying Scott was the next arrival. He showed up right after dark, with two children in tow. They were more intent on roasting marshmallows than worrying about setting up camp. What are Dads for anyway . He and I set about putting together “Uncle’s” tent.
The rest of the night was spent getting acquainted with Alex and Andrew. I was amazed at how many marshmallows they ate J.
We didn’t find out until later that Daniel Joseph, and friends had made camp in another section of the campground. Their rig to say the least was posh. We shouldn’t make too much fun of Woods for staying in a hotel. These guys just brought the hotel with them. Wait, I take that back, lets make fun of Woodspuppy and his lavender shorts anyway!

Saturday dawned with perfect weather. We got geared up, and headed out on the trail. Squeaky was doing great. This was her first real ride with other people, and not in an open pit. She must really like kicking, cause she kept shutting the bike off in the middle of the trail. Hehe. No, really she did great. When she ever climbed that first hill, I was slack jawed! I couldn’t believe she had not only tried it, but actually made it! So, I did what any proud papa would do. I gave chase, caught up with her, and since she was riding next to a puddle instead of riding through it I blasted through it in a celebratory splashing! She took it in stride, and I think started plotting her revenge at that point.

Hopefully some of our pictures come out good, because I’ve got some snapshots of Squeaky on her first trip into singletrack. She and I had split off from the group and went off to find some easy singletrack for her to cut her teeth on. Scooter pointed us in the right direction. I grabbed the camera and took a shot of her making her way through the trees. She went around a corner and out of sight, so I took off after her. I couldn’t help but chuckle when I found her. The point of trail she stopped at was about 6 feet wide. In the center of the trail was a 1-inch sapling. The trail was clear on either side. Squeaky had placed her front wheel squarely into the sapling. She had just had her first lesson in target fixation!
She was doing so well on the single track I decided to challenge her. The next section was a bit tougher than she had been on, but I figured she’d either do it or make me ride her bike out if it was too much. To her credit she tried her damnedest. Then another tree reached out and grabbed her pretty hard. After that, she lost her confidence a bit, it seemed. And she was getting pretty tired of picking the bike up, and starting it. She had made it almost 95 percent of the way through.
We finished out the day by making it back to the parking area. The rocky downhills that she traversed were testament to how much better she had become as a rider in only one days time.

Saturday night- good drinks, good conversation-good night

Sunday was another spectacular day. We really couldn’t have asked for better weather. We headed off like some of the others have said, to Turtle hill, a few water crossings, and some good trails. Again Squeaky surprised me with her determination to conquer every challenge that was set before her. Her boyfriend is going to be very surprised with her riding skills when he rides with her again.

The afternoon is where it really got interesting though.
We made it out to Howie Hill. Samantha made it up first try.
“I thought it was supposed to be tough ”, she said.
“Well, he couldn’t make it up”, I said pointing to RMguy. Heheh.
It was a blast!

Squeaky really impressed me. I knew she wanted to learn to ride, but this weekend demonstrated to me that she really loves this stuff! Good for her. It’s been really great to watch her grow as a rider.
It was a great weekend. I finally got to ride with Treejumper. I met Flying Scott, his wife and children. Silver bullet made an appearance, even though it was a short one.
Dave and Lori; they are the best. I always enjoy riding with them.
Kudos to RMguy for putting the whole shebang into motion. Great job
A big thanks to Scooter for showing us around on Saturday. You helped make the weekend great.
I know I’m leaving out a lot of people. But, you all made it a great time.
Thanks. I can’t wait for the next ride.

Great report big guy!!!! I love reading everyone elses perspectives...and this weekend really made me feel ready to buy a newer (lighter and easier to start) bike!

well it was good to see everyone saturday night at the campground, maybe next time i'll actually get to ride with some of the group(not to discredit jason; nice loop!).to any one to stayed home because the weather, boy did you screw up;it was beautiful!thank to Gixxer and his bud for the help loading up on sat.-next time we'll make the ramp fit! so when are we going again?

Posted by: Flying Scot---------------------

PATHUMPERGUY,

So far under the PA riders posting we have formed some sort of attempt at a revival. So far for Memorial weekend probably the 25th, JasonJ ( maybe with his girlfriend ) RV6Junkie with his son and I with my 2 adorable children and my friend Phil ( the wife says money is to tight so I am working on her to go as well ). That is the plan- also our group probably will hit Traxx at Jack frost on Saturday and head to Paragon for Sunday.

I will start a thread under places to ride to see if there is more interest. Wanna come. :thumb:

"Ooh, I didn't realize you were taking pictures, either!!

Ehhh hehehehe, beware Jason in Stelth mode! Yeah, but remember I followed Trigger through the deep hole and nearly missed running over him as he apparently threw the XR down on the far shore in what appeared to be some type of FMX end of run celebration display .
LOL, yeah, you have to remember to stay behind the helm cam guys, but infront or just behind the digital cam guys . That being said, I see no pictures of me by anyone else so that means I had a good weekend and didnt fall to bad, or nobody saw me it or I got up before anyone got a camera out.
Yeah, the trail awaits pic was taken at the same spot as the one where Lori was waiting on the bike looking down and where Sam was getting some help up the hill, all shot at the same time. It was somewere before turtle hill on the South ridge coming up out of the vally.

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

I see lots of pics of me...gee I wonder why. I must fall in style or something! I just wish someone had gotten one of me taking my mud bath...I found that highly entertaining .

No problem at all Dan....I totally understand... :thumb:

Next ride!!!

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Everyone keeps talking about this next ride...I beleive that we should do another one...I had soooooooooooo much fun!!!!!!

Posted by: jmics19067---------------------

ahhh thank you all for the excellent posts and pictures. It had a double edge sword on it though for curing my anxiousness to get out and ride.

glad all of you had fun, dang SqueakyGirl you made it up Howe Hill 1st shot without a problem. Ugh I am only good for maybe 3 out of 10 tries. Also dont worry about downhills Gravity will always help you out one way or another , You will eventually get there

PapaKieth, don't worry about the welder , it was delivered to my door for free once. I believe there is a lot of good Karma in that thing, or atleast in the people that had it before me. I am just trying to keep the good flow going ya know! It suited my purpose for a bit and I hope it suits yours.

Memorial Weekend ride? Hopefully I will have my projects done and make that one!

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Yup yup yup...one shot! Can you beleive it?

I even made it further than Trigger...but he'll keep blaming me for getting in his way I'm sure !!!

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

Yeah but like i told Trig, if they fall down go over them. You'll see that on the tape which should be at your house by time you get home today.

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Hey I didn't fall...the tree caught me!

Oh goody ...my pics should be up tonight! I'm going to pick them up after work today!

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Hey Tree Jumper, can I get a copy of the tape too? I cant PM you but can you dorp me a line at jasnker@comcast.net when you get a chance please?

Posted by: Trigger1911---------------------

Listen up Papacarnage, between you a Dan J. I'm going to bring the heavy-duty duct tape next time I ride with either of you.

Nothing gives me the heebie-jeebies like two guys checkin' out my butt.

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

I just put up a couple of pics that Squeaky and I took at Paragon. You can see them here
Also, I received the video footage from treejumper. Good stuff! I'll edit and post that as time permits.

You like that, huh? It says 'Sam was here' in hieroglyphics ya know!

Aren't you going to teach me how to jump "into" rather than "over" the trees???

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

Now that hurts!

Actually i thought i'd teach you the proper way from the start but if you really want to go "into" them first, we can do that.

Your welcome! Rub it in on how much fun he missed and what a wuss he is for not coming.

Oh, mail lady just dropped off my drivers license.

Posted by: jmics19067---------------------

Funny...my mother told me the picture of me standing with the downed XR looked pathetic.

What are you going to do with duct tape? Tie us up so we can't get away. :scream:

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

We don't have to worry about Duct tape. . .
Lavender Woods needs to stay at a hotel. He won't be near the campground!

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

YIPPEE!!!!

And the good news is...my license came in today! WOOHOO! No long lines at the DMV for me...and no more leaving it 5 hours from home either...

As for you guys and duct tape...I'm frightened just thinking of what you may use it for...

Hey Dan, thanks for asking. The arm is actually starting to get back to normal color but it's still pretty sore. My hand is still stiff too and hurts like heck when I try to bend to too much. It's getting better though.

I'm glad everyone had such a good time. For all of you that think you made it up Howie hill, you're sadly mistaken. The real hill continued up straight instead of taking a quick turn to the right. It was nasty. I did try it and, since it's is supposedly on tape now, I didn't make it. I got stuck when I lost the trail and tried to get back on. The worst part of the hill is at the very top. Everybody had a hard time with that. I even saw OffRoad Warrior stumble a few time on his trials bike. Don't ask me why I was following him. At least I knew the places to avoid.

Posted by: Trigger1911---------------------

Papakeith- Great pics!
Squeaky- I can teach you to jump INTO a pond!
Jmics- I dont need a snorkel, I need and AQUALUNG!
RMGUY- Good to hear your arm is doing better, No NANCY award for you!
Anyone else- Lets do this again!

Got my video on Sat and poped it in and watched it, Great vido! After watching it I even felt kinda relaxed like I do after riding, must have been the rider perspective view and the sound of the Yamaha thumper . You actually followed me up Turtle hill so that was cool to see me and big blue ripping a bit. Thanks again for the vid Chuck, your beers are on me next time an or your lunch!
Oh, but square that fuel screw away, your giving us Yamaha Thumper riders bad press with the starting thing , LOL, I herd it running out of gas while you were riding and I was like, the fuel petcok, turn the fuel petcok! It almost hurt my foot watching you kick it for like 2 mins.

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

Jason,

Yeah i had to piss with the fuel screw alot. Everytime i sat too long with the motor running it overheated spewing antifreeze on the ground. Then it would rev real high. That's when i would turn it down some. Once cool it barely rev'ed and i had to turn it back to where i normally keep it. Funny how i didnt have to touch the fuel screw once on Dan's tour of the woods with Lori and Dave. I did a poker run the following weekend and only stalled it once in the woods and didnt have to touch the fuel screw at all. What can i say, the big pig dont like to go slow in the woods.

Oh, i spent the weekend before last doing alot of hill climbs with the camera. Pretty cool!

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

"What can i say, the big pig dont like to go slow in the woods. "
I here ya brother! I had alot of the same with the WR when I first got it and got in a slower ride when it was hot out, I had to bump the PJ up to a 38 I think? Maybe a 40! I have to check my book. Yeah it would heat up and overflow, pop and run to lean at idel, then not start. It was fine if you were riding in second gear or more or off the PJ. Since I piged up the PJ it starts fine and I only herd the gurgle of the overflow tank (WR creature comfort ) after the slow going on the morning you shot the tape, at wich time I became Triggers shadow and started jumping in every puddle I could find

When you learn to ride then you can make fun of my shorts.
As for the hotel I already explained it, but here it is one more time:

The way you and Dan Joseph kept checking out my a$$ really freaked me out. I kept hearing dueling banjos playing in the background.

Posted by: scooter1130---------------------

OK I am watching the video of the ride, and I have to say that you missed the original trail up Howie hill, and Sorry Dave, but there is no evidence on the video of you going up the right trail. So When is the next ride :flame:
