vforce vs. boyesen???

anybody have any thoughts on which is the better choice valve? I have to replace a cracked up carb boot and want to know if i should just get the boyeson with the boot that comes with it, or get the vforce and buy another oem carb boot.

hmmm not sure if it worked but any way in the mods and performance thread there is a discussion about Vforce reeds called " CR 500 help"
if you want just something to bolt on stock or Boyeson is your best bet Aside from jetting the boyeson will bolt right up if they make one for your bike.
If your stock manifold has a reed cage stuffer on it you will have to cut it off and you might have to notch out the cylinder or grind down the reed cage to make it fit some bikes. Not a true bolt on item for all of its applications.

it sounds like the boyesen is the best bet for me, but it looks not much different than my stock reed cage. How much better can it be? the vforce sure looks like it might be better, with almost double the reed area, and everybody i know has them.

I can't say anything about the performance of my v force since I have not done any testing yet.
but as for the rad valve against stock on a 94 yz 250 there is a bit of benefit for me.
the bike seemed easier to jet< I am still in the learning process of proper jetting so this appeared to be a great help and I doubt my learning curve rapidly shot up the same amount>.
the stock characteristic of my bike was a rather violent lower midrange hit . It now has more usable power before the powervalve snaps open making the hit less of a wheelspin problem. Now whether it is the Rad valve itself or that it was easier to properly jet for me I dont know but I believe the two were very closely related in getting me an easier bike to ride.
I feel I am a lot smoother in the turns and stuff trail riding so I believe am a "faster" rider ,definately less tired. I am still slow on a motocross track but a lot more predictable .A very good thing for the other people on the track
.I can't say anything about the top end since my riding style/abilities and the places I ride don't really allow me to stretch the throttle cable. I would shift before I would wring out a lower gear.

All kiddin aside,
I noticed that when i installed the V-Force, it pulled harder in the bottom mid and top end :thumb: As for jetting, i think if i can remember that far back, that i went w/a smaller mainjet and moved the clip one notch.. I've had the swame spark plug for well over a year ( i ride just about evey weekend) and when i change the silencer packing, it looks tan like a cigarrette butt (using redline @40:1) All in all it was well worth the price..

Just wanted to add that most of my friends seem to like V-force, jetski's, quads, bikes, seems people tend toward to v-force. Just wanted to give what I have observed. I am not partial, just an observation....
